Who do you want to see in office?

I think that Himura Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin) would probably make a pretty good president. Roger Smith (Big O) would make a simply fantastic president. He's got the looks, the poise, the charisma, and the character.

More when I have the time.

(This wouldn't be considered political, would it?)

Seeing these "Optimus Prime for President" banners floating around gave me an idea. What anime character would you elect as president? Here are my candidates:

# Son Goku - The king of unilateral action. Not only could he invade Iraq without the support of the international community, he could do it without the support of the American military!

# Vash the Stampede - Although his criminal record bars him from legally competing in the presidential elections, this candidate's "Love and Peace" platform may be enough to make the American public look the other way.

# Kurata Sana - A strong, mallet-wielding presence makes Sana an ideal choice for America's first female
president.

# Nabeshin - All-around coolness and strong support from the United Fro League mean that Nabeshin will be a force to be reckoned with in this year's race.

# Haruhara Haruko - Despite consistently demonstrating her willingness to destroy all of humanity in the pursuit of personal gain, Haruko is more selfless and ethical than most presidential candidates in years past. Haruko's strong points also include strong guitar-based diplomacy and capabilities as a walking anti-drug advertisement.

I would like to see Hiko Seijurou as president. My libertarian leanings resonate with his personal policy of isolation, and I could really see him instituting a non-interventionist foreign policy. Of course, he still is quite able to annihilate the enemy should they pose a threat.

Save for Roger, I don't think any of them are naturally born citizens. Heck, Vash isn't even from earth and Hamtaro isn't even human. ^_^

I don't see a whole lot getting done in that administration, which is sometimes a good thing.

I think NausicaÃ¤ would make a great president.
Kenshin would do better as Chief of Staff of the White House.
I like Galaxy Fraulein Yuna as Secretary of State as well. She has the remarkable ability to turn enemies into friends. Not that that would work with the French.

Hmmmm...come to think of it, Lady Iboshi would have made a better minister of Industry.
