A sort of sequal to Tokyo Babylon, X/1999 is basicly the story of two teams of pyschic warriers who are fighting to decide the fate of the world. The six Dragons of heaven, led by a dream seer Hinoto, fight to save the world, while the six dragons of earth, led by the dream seer's sister, Kanoe, fight to destroy the earth. However, everything really rests on the shoulders of Kamui, who has the ability to chose whether he will become the 7th dragon of Heaven or Earth. The first 8 volumes revolve around the various actions of both teams as they try to recruit or defeat Kamui, and the rest half deals with the events after he makes his decision. This happenst o be my most favorite manga series of ALL time! It's a really cool with tons of awesome characters. The plot has some good twists and is mostly pretty depressing. The artwork is the best artwork in ANY manga series, hands down! ^_^ As I said earlyer, it's sort of a sequal to Tokyo Babylon because a couple of the characters and events from that manga series show up, although you don't have to read Babylon to get what's going on. The manga is very gory and violent at times, and there is some nudity in the first few volumes, but it's still really awesome.
