Cartoon Network and Adult Swim

I guess like everyone we wait to see how long before the network just stops showing all anime on their network and everything they show has their icon or Henry Street icon.
You go to their forums for Adult Swim to complain and you get taunted by
Dark Lord Khrima who seems to be the moderator of AS forums if you show your support for anime.
They dropped a lot of good shows before they got to the end of series.
Dropped The anime block during the week day afternoons and Saturday evenings.
You feel the World is in trouble if viewers from 18 to 30 of age like cartoons that show immoral ways to be the way to go and get them repeated over and over.
I wish the network had a all anime channel. I know there are all anime channels out there but it depends on your cable system you get in your area.
If you live in Maryland you have Comcast dominating the state.
You can get satellite or Fios systems (if its in your area) where you could get more chioces.

Uh, Adult Swim still shows anime on Sat night and what the heck is Henry Street?

They dropped a lot of good shows before they got to the end of series.

That's because the ratings for those shows had a flatline and not a heartbeat.

I know there are all anime channels out there but it depends on your cable system you get in your area.

Did have them and they didn't do well. The only all anime channel now is the FUNimation Channel and that is it. ADV stop their Anime network Channel and now its on the anime network web site and Video on demand only.

You feel the World is in trouble if viewers from 18 to 30 of age care this much about what happens on TV.

Fixed.

Not to sound rude, but this is a very old topic that's been discussed numbers of times, and it's really not that big of a deal. The reason why AS's ratings for anime are so low is because anime fans would rather watch their anime subbed online than on TV. And they make it fairly easy to access these days. Really, there are worse things happening in the world.

So you're Khrima
Elusive member.
I watched the ratings fall
You dropped them under.

They say you want Geass,
Well I just see whiney kids;
They must have scheduled it
You're viewings are late at night.
Oh, you snuffed the show.
Replaced it with Venture Bros.
Threw away the remote.

Oh, you snuffed the show.
Replace it with Venture Bros.

Some of their shows are fantastic, too - Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Metalocalypse, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force all rank pretty high on my list of American animation favorites. I also enjoy Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil - it's much more tasteful than Moral Orel, and really only offensive if you take it too seriously or perhaps if you're Catholic.

Beyond those examples, the best original show [adult swim] has ever aired, The Venture Bros., is also by Williams Street.

It's pretty silly to make the generalized claim that American animation is immoral while anime is not. You should expect anyone on the [adult swim] moderating team/staff/etc. to tease you if you complain], so you have them to thank for any of the anime you've seen on the channel anyway. Every TV channel will respond to ratings - if you really want to make a difference, watch anime when it's being shown.

OK I got my names mixed up on the name of the company.
I am kinded of pointing out the other shows that Williams Street are putting out that do seem disturbing.
There are some worth watching, but then again I have a 7:30 AM to 4PM job to go to week days and at times goes to emergency 12 hours operations
when call for.
So I do miss things.

Really we should be just be happy for whatever anime does get shown these days. And I think that they will eventually stop showing them, but Im enjoying them while they still last. I love anime, but we should not blame the networks for this.

@ Fish- That was beautiful.

This has been discussed a large number of times, but I'll go over it again I guess. The reason why anime doesn't get shown on Adult Swim is, as many have said, because anime doesn't get high ratings on Adult Swim. The highest rated anime they've had is Cowboy Bebop. That's why they show it so much.

Why doesn't anime on Adult Swim get high ratings? The answer is simple. Most anime fans watch their anime online. Most anime fans hate dubs. You can respond "But I like dubs!" That's fine that you do. The majority of anime fans do NOT, however. It doesn't matter how good the dub is, how well they treat it, anime fans will hate it...Naruto is an excellent example of this.

Since they're not going to show subtitled anime on TV, this means that the majority of the anime audience is already lost to anything they'll show.

Second, judging from the wide array of shows Adult Swim shows, comedy is the big draw. This is why Family Guy, Robot Chicken, and so on, are always on the top of the ratings. This is why much of AS's original programming is comedy. Most of the anime they show on AS isn't really comedy (at least not intentionally), and the anime that IS comedic, doesn't always translate well to American comedic styles.

Adult Swim summed it up best in one of their show bumpers. They showed the highest rated shows of the week. They showed how the anime ratings compared. They then summed it up by saying, "In conclusion, Adult Swim does not hate anime. YOU DO."

In closing, Venture Bros. is amazing.
I also enjoy Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil - it's much more tasteful than Moral Orel, and really only offensive if you take it too seriously or perhaps if you're Catholic.

You know, I caught an episode of that by chance one night, and I have to say I found it pretty hilarious (it was the karaoke episode).
