What Child is This - And I can't believe this but I forgot who wrote it, it's like my favorite book of all time, lol, but I think Caroline B. Cooney wrote it. I'm not sure though. I always read this book at Christmas time. It's a very good book.

i sniffled thru 'Abolition of Man' by CS Lewis and 'The Man Who Was Thursday' by G.K. Chesterton (he's a LITERARY GENIUS.) 'The Imitation of Christ' by Thomas a Kempis and the Gospel of John (esp. chap 8) are guaranteed teary-eye-makers.

I cried towards the end of George R. R. Martin's "The Hedge Knight." I've read it several times and it never fails to make me at least a little teary-eyed. I also cried over one of the Dragonriders of Pern books. I think it was "The Skies of Pern"...I don't want to say why cuz that would be a spoiler. n.n

I recently read Wish You Well by David Baldacci for a required summer book report (still nead to type up the book report) and it had me crying near the end. It was actually a really good book, and I enjoyed it

(which is like a miracle for me since it was a book report book and not one I read for fun).

I cry at so many books...a few of them include The Two Princesses of Bamarre, Ella Enchanted, the end of the Animorph series, Zinc, Stargirl, and A Place to Call Home. That last book...I started reading this one part, and ended up sobbing uncontrollably. I had to stop reading it for a week before I could go on it was so sad. ^^;

I cried reading Harry Potter Four and Five. Lol. I'm hopeless, huh? And I nearly cried reading the Redemption of Althalus but only because it was so happy! And I nearly cried reading 1984, but that was more of shock than sadness.

Star of Light by Patricia St. John. It's about a little Morrocan boy who travels far to protect his blind baby sister from being sold to someone to work as a begger. The sister gets adopted by a missionary nurse lady. They go through so much. It's such a moving, touching story about God, struggle, humanity, love, and divine providence.

The only book that I specifically remember crying over was The Prophet, by Frank E. Perreti.

It also spawned one of my favorite non-sensical quotes: "Brown gets moldy in the rain."

Oddly enough, at the ending to Robin McKinnley's book Spindle's End. It's not a sad story, it's a REALLY good version of Sleeping Beauty. Practical and I adored the characters. The ending was so perfect though...-sniffles-

I remember when I was reading the last book in the Sevenwaters trilogy 'Child of the Prophecy' I did cry a bit near the end. And I was close to crying while reading 'Ella Enchanted'.

Lord of the Rings. I remember....

I thought he died, too, and of course, my Mom called me to lunch before I got to the part where I found out that Frodo wasn't actually dead, and I could hardly eat, I was so depressed. XD It took me an hour or two to get up the courage to read what happened next.[/spoiler]
