i really liked 'Abolition of Man'. I also like 'Mere Christianity' and 'God in The Dock'.

it's a collection of his essays and letters. I think they are all pretty good and an excellent 'Lewis Primer' for those who are unfamiliar with his particular stance.

Pray tell, does that include "Why I am not a conscientious objector"? I have needed to get ahold of a copy of that essay, and have had little luck finding it in essay form.

I like his Narnia books. Those are good. I read all of them. And my mom wants me to read that book that are letter or something...what is it called?

Freaky book (but very good). Lewis does imply in the Foreward that the *real* Screwtape may have been at his elbow during the book's construction ... makes you twitch slightly inside.

I also very much enjoyed The Great Divorce, and the Silent Planet trilogy.

the silent plant trilogy consists of 3 books, "out of the silent planet" "perelandra" and "that hideous strength"

i have read out of the silent planet, it was a great book, and im about a quarter way through perelandra, its good too

I read the great divorce for school and it was quite good, I also liked all the chronicles of narnia except for the horse and his boy, I did'nt understand that one

I've read Narnia a few times through, and my favorite books (at the moment) are The Silver Chair and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

I love all the Chronicles of Narnia and have read them numerous times. My favourties would have to be Magician's Nephew and the Silver Chair. My least favourite is probably the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (its not bad by any means but we had to read it in primary school so often and its the only one that is publisiced). The BBC versions were good but the effects left a lot to be desired and Lucy was nothing like I imagined her to be. I wish BBC had done the Magician's Nephew, the Horse and His Boy and The Last Battle and I can't wait to see the new movie too.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is the new movie. Its not being made by Disney, but is being funded by them.

Yes; some of the Disney subcompanies have produced decent quality films. This one I am not completely familiar with, but I am grateful that it is not being directly created by Disney. I do not want their philosophies anywhere near CS Lewis' works.

Yes... disney seems to always mess up good movies, like Lion King and Pocahantas.
Any way... I have read the chronicles of narnia twice. I think The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Last Battle are my favorites. I liked how dawn treader was like the odyssey and the beauty in the last battle.

my all time of favorite of lewis's is screwtape letters. pretty awesome things to see it from a devil's pov. then of course there's also chronicles of narnia! the end is a blast! ^^

I like Lewis' fiction stuff. Particularly Great Divorce and Screwtape. But his nonfiction, although I'm sure it's excellent stuff, just goes way over my head. I tried to read Mere Christianity and it was just... well... I don't know if there's a word to describe it. It probably could be described in a large paragraph that Lewis could write and I wouldn't be able to wrap my mind around it.
