Homework help--particularly research

I should warn you guys that this is a college thing, but this isn't going to be asking for complex equations or anything. XD

In my English Comp class, we've been doing a project where we have to pick an experience we've had and write on it. I chose my experience with my job--I started off in the clothing section at Target, but I didn't do very well, so I switched to working as a cashier.

Now we're supposed to find articles, books, etc relating to our experience. Google searching and the like.

The thing is, we've been supposed to be doing this for a week now and I haven't found a single article, book, or internet source that really works. ^^; I'm probably just not searching well, but I'm running out of ideas.

I'm also supposed to find someone who had a similar experience--but the only person I can even think of is Miyamoto, and it's not that he didn't LIKE being an artist, he just happened to be available to make a video game at the time he was working with Nintendo.

I'm really drawing a blank here. ^^; Any ideas?

Umm... job+clothing store=little data.

You might go on something different and a little easier to find info on. There are a lot of things that people have in common with a large amount of data. In the last few years most of these have either been related to your parents, friends, boyfriends or school. As far as similiarity goes try to think general rather than specific, most people have unique experiences even when dealing with the same stimuli. Thats my two cents

Out of curiosity, does your school subscribe to a periodical database? They might have studies on that sort of thing...

If I *could* change my subject, I would, but I can't. We've been at this project for a month now. >_< I'm stuck with it. If I changed my subject, I'd have to catch up by doing all of my work all over again...*siiiiigh* I'm so dumb.

They do have a periodical database, yup. ^^ My local library has one, too. I haven't been able to find anything there yet, though (but I haven't looked very much yet, I've mostly been trying to find an internet source first, which I assumed...would be easier. ^^; ) I do need one as a source, though (as well as a book and internet source), so thanks for reminding me of it!

Thanks for the book, too, I'll take a look at it.

Also guys: The source doesn't have to be about *retail* as much as it has to be more relating to the experience--I guess it'd be more focused on first applying yourself towards one job and then realizing your skill set fit something else better and switching. Fakir from Princess Tutu would be a decent example, if anyone's seen that anime.
