My long-overdue formal introduction

Hello, everyone. I just wanted to type up my quick introduction (although I've been on the site since May). :P

Name/Alias: Lady Arianrod

Age: 18

Location: Northeast USA

hobbies/interests: creative writing, art, being outdoors/in nature, reading, watching movies, chatting online (especially on forums!), politics (to some degree), languages (especially Spanish), listening to music, watching anime, existential thought :), psychology, journalism, and fencing (which I want to practice more but lack the time to actually do).

music: Anything but country or techno. I like Celtic music, choral music, epic soundtracks, and neo-opera (especially Josh Groban). I also like some modern rock (Switchfoot and Evanescence) and slower rock (Coldplay and Keane).

anime: Here are a few of my favorite series, manga and movies: Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, Grave of the Fireflies, Haibane Renmei, Now and then/Here and There, Laputa, Princess Mononoke, Card Captor Sakura, One Piece, Magic Knight Rayearth, DN Angel, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Suki (by Clamp), Angelic Layer, Spirited Away, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fruits Basket, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo (though I've only seen a bit), Akira, Sailor Moon (to some degree), and Zoids (the original series).

personal info:
hmm... I'm a generally optimistic person (sometimes too idealistic) and I enjoy studying other people/the world. I am social at times, but I also like being alone. Overall, I'm very laid-back and easygoing. I like having fun... Leisure is often more attractive to me than work  .

How I became a Christian: I was raised in a Christian home... And I was encouraged to say the sinner's prayer at a young age. I was baptized as a baby and later on as a teenager. I used to attend a nondemoninational Protestant church but I am currently attending a Catholic church. (I didn't go through the RCIA, however).

my goals for this year: I want to: join the school newspaper, start taking martial arts, get more invovled in my college campus and pray more often.

That's about all I have to say for now! =)

Hi. I've seen you around. :thumb: I hope you're not too put off if I ask you a few questions?

Hair and eye color?

How do you like your steak cooked?

Do you hate McDonald's as much as I do?

What's your favorite dessert?

What do you like on your pizza?

If you were on a desert island, and you had ample food, water, and shelter, what three other things would you want with you?

If God Himself decreed that you could only own ONE anime series, ONE video game, and THREE music CDs for the rest of your days, what ones of each would you pick?

What does it mean to "rock" a vote? Can a vote be R&B'd? Singer-songwrited?

How many of the nine Supreme Court justices can you name? How many of the nine members of The Brady Bunch can you name? What does that say about you?

Thirteen colonies? That's bad luck. Who was the colony wizard who came up with that one?

I'll be glad to answer these! ]Hair[/I]: dirty blonde

Eyes: blue/gray ish

How do you like your steak cooked? Well done. But I don't have steak that often. =P

Do you hate McDonald's as much as I do? I usually get sick from fried or processed food, so... yes.

What's your favorite dessert?
sherbet, lemon italian ice, or green jello.

What do you like on your pizza?
I usually order the plain cheese pizza but I'm also partial to white pizza.

If you were on a desert island, and you had ample food, water, and shelter, what three other things would you want with you? A computer (equipped with a word processor), a good book of legends or mythology, and a CD player with my favorite mix playing on it.

If God Himself decreed that you could only own ONE anime series, ONE video game, and THREE music CDs for the rest of your days, what ones of each would you pick?
This is a very hard question. For anime, I'd have to pick one of the following (but I can't decide at the moment): Haibane Renmei, Escaflowne, or Naruto. I would choose Haibane Renmei because it's mysterious and needs to be rewatched multiple times to be understood; Naruto because it's exciting and shows no signs of ending any time soon; and Escaflowne because it's classic and I'd never get tired of it. I can't decide which one I'd want out of those three the most, however.

For video games, I'd pick... the new Legend of Zelda game that's coming out in a few months. I don't play games that much so I can't decide which one I truly like the most, however.

And for CDs, I'd pick: The 10th Anniversary Les Miserables CD; the original Josh Groban CD; and one of the CDs I burned from my computer ^__^.

What does it mean to "rock" a vote? Can a vote be R&B'd? Singer-songwrited? To "rock" a vote is merely a term coined to keep the interest of pop-culture savvy teenagers that have little to no interest in voting. It is a short word and therefore it's easily understood by the internet generation. To "rock" is most likely synonymous with any word of the earthquake persuasion, including "shake" and "uproot". A vote cannot be R&B'd because R&B is too smooth to change the vote drastically. It cannot be singer-songwrited because that phrase is too long for teenagers to remember. And, thankfully, the vote cannot be Eminem'd. Rock is such a generalized term nowadays that it has been adopted as a "cool" part of the modern teenage jargon that has been evolving since the late 1950's. Not many people I knew rocked the vote this election, however, and I certainly did not.

How many of the nine Supreme Court justices can you name? How many of the nine members of The Brady Bunch can you name? What does that say about you? Hmmm.... I can only name four. Clarence Thomas, Rehnquist, O'Connor, and Ruth B. Ginsburg. I can name most of the Brady Bunch, however: Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marcia, Jan, Cindy, Mike, Carol, and Alice. This shows that I watch too much Nick at Nite and too little CNN.

Thirteen colonies? That's bad luck. Who was the colony wizard who came up with that one?
Someone who wanted to tempt fate and use the legendary bad number. However, look where it got us today!

I hope that fulfills your expectations!

Hmmm; yes I know that location...northeast, right..... NOT!!!
Not everyone is in the same country my dear as you may already know, in my cause you would be in Queensland, and I very much doubt that. ;)

You've already answered my typical question of how you became a Christian.... sooo; what do you feel that you've been called to do for the Lord? Like any personal ministery you feel strongly about... (maybe you have not found it yet)?

Glad to meet you better. I have been curious because we have posted in many of the same places.

Post edited: Northeast USA =).

Anyway, I'm not exactly sure where I've been called, but I do feel a strong connection to literature and writing as well as a deep desire to travel to other nations. I think that I'd like to work somewhere overseas, possibly in a Spanish-speaking nation (because of my interest and growing ability in the language). However, I haven't found my one true calling yet... Hopefully, it will manifest itself soon.

I do feel lead to publish some sort of book with a Christian outlook on life, but it would most likely be fantasy/pure fiction. I've already started the book (in 9th grade, actually), but it's going nowhere as of late...

Thanks for the post though.

Thanks for the reply. =)

I wanted to type up a quick little introduction because I am often curious myself about other members on this site. I've read a good amount, including your own introduction (it was quite an old thread!).

Thanks for your reply ^^. Oh, and I chose this name because I was reading a Celtic mythology book and I happened to like the name Arianrod (meaning "silver circle", I believe). :)
