Movies that made you cry

Postby Bobtheduck » Wed Apr 28, 2004 3:08 am

There was an "Anime that made you cry" thread, a "Songs that made you cry" thread, and a "Book that Made you cry"

So, it makes sense to have a "Movies that made you cry" thread...

I cried in Léon, at the end
This is a present from.. Mathilda
... So sad. Also sad at the beginning...
When Mathilda's little brother gets killed
I cried in To End All Wars when
McLean(sp?) is shot
as well as
Yanker is tied up and sings Yankee doodle dandy
but I was bawling when
They Crucify Dusty... The tear rolling down Ito's face was really sad, too...
There were more than that, but those were the biggest.

I cried profusely in Passion of the Christ when Peter denied Jesus...

When I was little, I cried a lot when I saw "My Girl"
When I was little, I cried in "Ewok Adventure" 1 and 2...

The powerfull scene at the end of Schindler's list made me cry...

A walk to remember made me feel sick, it was so sad... It was amplified by the fact her character reminded me of a girl I liked...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

This thread had to come :-p

Well.. for me thee are many movies that has made me cry.

I can agree with "Leon" and "A walk to remember". But often there is a part in every drama movie, or even action movie that is touching. Something they say, or something they do - parts you understand with your heart...

In Passion of Christ I did not cry, but I felt the most toucing part was when claudia gave Maria and Maria ( ) the "towel"....

Movies from Soldier to Forest Gump :) all can give me tears...
We in our foolishness thought we were wise
He played the fool and He opened our eyes
We in our weakness believed we were strong
He became helpless to show we were wrong

I saw bits of Schindler's List in the 6th grade. Bits, minds you. For some odd reason Mum thought it was a good idea... . :shake: Had nightmares for weeks because I had a red jacket.

I saw all of it though, oh gosh, must've been last year in World History. I didn't cry, but came very close.

The only movie that ever made me cry was the Neverending Story 2, when Bastion recalls the death of this mother. Such things really bothered me when I was younger (my mom is alive and well, btw :) ).

When I was a kid, I couldn't watch "Otis and Milo" or "The Fox and the Hound" without crying.

Hmm...movies that made me cry:

Field of Dreams (I bawled like a baby!)
The Lion King
The Passion of the Christ
Tuck Everlasting
Finding Nemo
Lilo & Stitch
My Girl
Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow

For Thine is the Kingdom

Between the conception
And the creation
Between the emotion
And the response
Falls the Shadow

Life is very long

Between the desire
And the spasm
Between the potency
And the existence
Between the essence
And the descent
Falls the Shadow

For Thine is the Kingdom

For Thine is
Life is
For Thine is the

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but with a whimper.

The only movie that has ever made me cry was 'The Passion of the Christ'. It was around the end when it finally broke me. I didn't cry much though, just a few tears and sniffles.

Before the movie started, they were handing out tissues(yes!). But I didn't take any because I didn't think I would need them, I NEVER cry during movies. I did end up regretted it though...

I must say that I rarely ever cry during movies, no matter how much they move me, and I tend to like sad movies to a degree (or drama, more like), but there have been a few. These movies stand as some of my favorite movies I've ever seen.

Wit - This movie no one has ever seen, but if anyone has the chance, please, please watch it. There's this one part that did it to me, but I don't remember the spoiler code.....

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - I think we remember the scene... in the rain, again I don't remember the spoiler code, and I don't want to look it up because of the slow nature of the computer

Voices of A Distant Star - Just watch this one and try not to be affected. This is an anime though, so maybe doesn't count.

The next closest other than these three I have been to crying is one that has been mentioned many times: Schindler's List. That's all.

Yes, umm, I never actually cry. I generally come really close and sniffle. I sniffled in A Walk to Remember, Voices of a Distant Star, and My Dog Skip. (For some reason, I cry in pretty much any movie where a pet dies. I guess I've always loved my animals so much.) There are more, but I can't think of them right now.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Cry? Namida no kaze

Postby Xavier249 » Mon Jun 07, 2004 10:28 pm

Actually I cannot think of a movie I have seen that I cried during any part of except the passion of the Christ. I snapped when I saw Mary and Jesus lock eyes, but after that scene was over I dried up and watched the rest.

It actually kind of bothers me that I don't even cry at really saddening parts of movies. I dunno why, but even if I am alone the tears won't come.

I cried (sniffled, really) through all of 'Black Hawk Down' and the Kenshin movie 'Trust + Betrayal'. I cried when Solid Snake shoots Sniper Wolf in Metal Gear Solid (I know it's not a movie). I cried at the end of the MGS3 trailer when it says, "Politics determine who you face on the battlefield.... The only thing we can believe in with absolute certainty is the mission. Coming here made me realize something. Half of what I'd been told was a complete and utter lie. The other half was a conveniently constructed lie."
