The Looney Tunes Show

Well folks, Crappy Network is actually showing promise again. A new show is coming and it's actually...A CARTOON! And not just any cartoon, but Looney Tunes! You see, when Crappy Network actually had the audacity to try to cancel Looney Tunes, fans rightly complained, and they realized "Duh...people still like this? Well, maybe we should do new stuff after all these years! It worked in Tiny Toon Adventures."
I say we totally support this, especially since I just learned they will actually try to get stuff past the radar, just like the Looney Tunes of old did. There is hope! If we support this, Crappy Network may finally realize there's a better market for ACTUALLY BEING WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE!
....Nah. This is just a phase before they turn into another MTV. Or it will be if we don't support it. So, let's support it. If we don't, we'll lose them, just like we lost MTV.
We want cartoons, Crappy Network, not Hole in the Wall!:mutter: We must support the cartoons. The less live-action we watch, the less they will show.
Also, the Looney Tunes show appears as if it will be catering to those who like more "sophisticated" humor, just like Looney Tunes of old. This must also be supported, so we get less of Total Drama Whatever or Problem Solvers. Stop insulting your audience. Even as a kid, I hated that.

I'm a little nervous about this. The commercials leave me with mixed feelings. The comedy looks like it may be classic Looney Tunes stuff but the animation looks awful. I have seen Looney Tunes done bad and the problem is that when it is done bad it is done really bad (Loonitics Unleashed, Baby Looney Tunes)
I really hope that my fears will be put to rest when i see the first episode.

I've heard they butchered Wiley Coyote. Literally.
Anyways, bad puns aside, we can only see what happens. Being someone who generally avoids American TV, it's not going to affect me much until my watchdog network alerts me to a gem along the lines of Phineas and Pherb. XD

I enjoyed Looney Tunes as a kid for some reason... not quite sure why now.

The originals were funny and clever. I liked them as a kid too. I still like to watch them on occasion.

Same here. I could care less for the upcoming Looney Tunes show. Can't beat the original. EVER.

I love Looney Tunes. I hardly watch TV, but if this is on I'll have to try and cat-... I don't have the Cartoon Network...
Hopefully it'll show up on one of the other similar channels.

I'm not going to
completely disagree with you because the original is very good, but this show hasn't even begun yet. I'd advise against taking a guess about the quality of something we've seen nothing more than previews of. If nostalgia gets the best of you, it can ruin the outcome of a potentially good show.

So true! I love old Looney Tunes, but cartoons today just aren't as good :/ So I'm skeptical if these will be any good.

I really liked the classic Looney Tunes! Those classic cartoons are hilarious and I really enjoyed them.
I never seen much of this new version, but I don't watch tv that much anymore. i mean, Cartoon network and all the other popular kids channels are kinda downhill now.

And they should keep it that way, and make it more than just an hour per weekday.

Psst...part of the Looney Tunes show is being done here in Toon City in the Philippines.
I know because I've worked on a few scenes.

Wait, wait. Doesn't anyone here remember
Tiny Toons? That was a veiled attempt to bring the Looney Tunes back, and it was a hit. So, why can't we just be positive? I'll post tomorrow what I think of it because I'm watching the premiere tonight.
Oh and teigiki, you get awesome points for being an animator on this. Did you watch any of the classic Looney Tunes for reference?

Why do we have to be positive about this, when we have to keep hearing you go on and on about CN and keep calling it Crappy Network.
Just think how old and annoying it gets hearding that, if you are going to do the same and say that we should be positive about the new show.

Because I only complain when they aren't being what they're supposed to be. When they actually play cartoons, like this one, I praise them. And I'm not the only one complaining about it. If you go look at the forums on Tv Tropes, youtube, and the like, there are a lot of people who aren't happy with Cartoon Network's new management. In fact, TV tropes has a whole section devoted to Cartoon Network and other networks that are adopting similar strategies called "Network Decay." Fortunately, there are a few networks that haven't gone down this road yet, and I hope they never do.
I mean, just because people are watching stuff on the Internet doesn't mean TV has to be desperate.

Okay, but one thing and this where I get a little bug. I know a few people that work at CN and they care and want to make Cartoon Network a good network, but they do have a job to do and are ordered to do what they are told, even if they don't like it. Most of them want CN to be a full Cartoon Network, but with the ratings that it is and the higer ups trying to do anything to make money, they have to do what is best for them to keep their job. I just take it as a slap in the face to those hard working men and women that want to make CN a great network, but their hands are tied.

I actually kind of have to agree with Roy about this. You're always down on them, and then keep saying 'have hope for the new show'. I just kind of want you to make up your mind >.>
And yes, TV has to be that desperate, because the people running it want to make money. Basically what Roy says- there are people who want to make it better, but don't have the power to do so.

Not only that, but it's also quite annoying when you get upset due to no one sharing in your enthusiasm. We've all got different opinions and tastes.

All right, Roy. I guess you're right. I have been beating a dead horse. After all, it's not like CN actually goes on the net at the various forums and reads what people are saying.

Well, I for one have been watching this show. I was throughly ready to bash and insult the show.
You know what?
It is actually kinda good. I am still watching every week and aside from the horrible, horrible music videos the humor is quite funny and smart.

Have we been watching the same show?
I tried I really tried. After my brother game the unfortunate news that the show was awful I was sad. Though, I tried an episode to see if maybe it was just him. It wasn't. It was so awful that I really wanted to stop watching it. Though, I pressed on to finish the full episode. The timing is all off which makes the jokes really unfunny. The thing is I wanted to laugh, I did but they just weren't funny. I mean first of all the voices are terrible. Those are some of the worst Mel Blanc impressions I have ever seen. They sounded like some random guy trying to do impressions of the Looney Tunes with his friends and not doing a very good job. I have heard voice actors capture Mel Blanc extremely well before so I know what good modern Looney Tunes sounds like. Why are Bugs and Daffy roommates? That doesn't make any sense to the characters. They have never been best friends. They have always been more of friendly rivals. In fact half the time they were on screen together was Daffy trying to one up Bugs because he was jealous of his popularity.
As I said before, the comedic timing is all off. This leaves the jokes flat. The episode I saw was the one with Lola stalking bugs. This could have been a funny concept but it failed to deliver. I mean why is Lola even in the show? Also how do mess up a personality of a character that was made up for one movie? She was more annoying than funny half the time. Also putting Bugs in a situation like that is so unbecoming of his character. Bugs was always quick witted and more often than not the one who was in control of the situation. So putting him in this weak position did not reflect the character at all.
Going back to the jokes one of the jokes that really should have been funny but wasn't was the scene where the barbell is dropped on Bugs's neck. It should have been funny but because the timing is off I found myself cringing instead of laughing. It honestly looked painful and not humorous. Daffy is too laid back. I liked it better when he was the greedy and cowardly duck that always tried the get Bugs in trouble so he could have the fame. He was funny then. When they brought Pepe Le Pew on screen I thought "Oh good Pepe! You can't ruin Pepe" I was dead wrong. He was not only unfunny but I was trying to figure out if they were trying to make gay jokes with him. I miss classic Looney Tunes. Then don't get me started on the horribly awful music videos and the really bad CGI Road Runner and Wiley Coyote shorts. I know that Looney Tunes can be done right as we have seen with the comedic genius of Bah Humduck. Now we have something as bad as Loonitics Unleashed.

Well...comedy is a matter of taste, your mileage may vary.
The timing is on for me, there are dramatic pauses for effect if that is what you are referring to (I blame Family Guy for that trend). Also you are absolutely correct, no one can replace Mel Blanc, he was the best. It seems they go for a good voice actor that can approximate the voice and go from there.
All the toons being neighbors and such is just a macguffin to get all the characters into one place. So if these are bad ideas to you....you're right, this show is not for you.
