I don't know how many of you out there have EWTN, but I thought I should pass along to you that they are doing a special series starting this Friday at 1:00pm Eastern Time. For those who don't know, EWTN is a Catholic cable channel that is paid for by donation. The series will explore the Christian connections that Tolkien subtly inserted into the LOTR trilogy and will even explore his relationship with fellow Christian fantasy writer and theologian (and all-around awesome writer) C.S. Lewis.

Well, now I get to be sad. This would be awesome to see, but I only have very, very basic cable (20 channels, 5 of them Spanish).

I would love to see that. Unfortunately, like Atria, we've got only very basic cable. Would be an amazing series to see though. Maybe it will be online at some point? I noticed on their website that they put some of their shows up on youtube.

Bad news: The only stuff EWTN posts on youtube is their live shows, like the homily from the daily mass.
Good News: You can watch EWTN right on their website. So just figure out what time the show would play if you had EWTN in your area and go on their website to buy it.
Even better News: Almost everything EWTN airs eventually is sold on DVD from their catalog, along with other religious materials. So the Tolkien show might wind up there too.

Actually you should be able to watch for free (in the US) at their website
http://www.ewtn.com/GO to the Television tab
Then go to Live-TV English (or Spanish if you prefer) then click on either Flash-US or on US.
My Mom watches it on the computer all the time since we lost cable.
Here's a direct link to the live feed here

So I hope that helps. ^^;
I heard the commercials about it and if I can I'd like to check it out.
