Yes,folks the greatest and most popular Western of them all turns half
a century old this weekend. It was 50 years ago that John Wayne was
first seen on tv to introduce a brand spanking new Western series starring
a still unknown actor named James Arness.
50 years later and Marshal Matt Dillon,Miss Kitty,Doc Adams,Chester Goode,
Newley and Festus Haggard are some of the most familiar Western characters that American tv produced. :thumb:
Only one other Western has proved to be as popular:Bonanza.

Yup, that's pretty cool! Makes me wonder how many members are knowledgeable about the show, though XD The Western channel (or is it Encore Western now...whatever  ) had a marathon, don't know if it's still on right now, but has anyone else been watching it?

SNIFIT 1: Booster, Sir! There's a 70% chance the object you're standing on is a cake.
BOOSTER: What? THIS thing's a cake?

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Not a fan, but my dad is. The show is certainly respectable for the stars it helped to launch and the stars that made guest appearances.
