I've already read the book that's come out for Ep. 3 and, I've got to say, it seems like it's giong to be one great movie (as long as it's done right).

If what I read in the book is any indicator, he's going to be really wicked. Him lightsaber fighting is awesome!

I saw him for the first time on the cartoon network show....But I did catch a gimpse of him in a tv spot the other day. Running around in his big spiked metal wheel thing...which I would love to use at work...

George Lucas is going to re-re-release the trilogy, with more changes. Now he wants to make it into a musical!

I found this segment he released to a test group:

That reminds me.....What about the new Star Wars tv show? lol. As far as I'm concerned, Penny Arcade pretty much says it all. I was gonna post it, but I'll ask an admin first ;)

I wasn't really looking forward to this movie, but it actually has three positive (yet realistic sounding) reviews of Rotten Tomatoes. Typically, Rotten Tomatoes is pretty brutal on movies, so this could be a really good sign. I'm still scared to get my hopes up though.

It's a Quicktime file, and it worked for me. Maybe you need an upgrade? I personally use Quicktime Alternative. Also, if you have dialup, it may just be loading slow
in which case, this is the dialup version http://www.thereeltodd.com/SWTM_LetsBlowThisThing_low.htm
(original link 21.3mb, the dialup is 7mb)

This is the parent site also: http://www.infauxmedia.com/swmusical/screening_room.htm

Hope this helps.

It looks like someone had the patience to go frame by frame to make lip movements work, and kept the rest intact with an overlayed soundtrack.

BY the way Kaemmerite, earlier you where bashing those fans who have been waiting outside for months to see the movie, well thats all to raise money for charity just to let you know. About the earilier arguments, I grew up with starwars as much as I possibley could being my age. The only reason I ever found the first one good is that it was made for my age group (when it came out a I was reall little). The second one strived to be better as I grew up so I thought it would was about as good as the first one. This one seems alot darker (pg-13 starwars movie! It can't be!) And like all the jedi are gonna die if they aren't all ready from that mini series on cartoon network. So as I grew up the new trilogy has grown up. So all the movies will always seem good in my memory of the first time I saw them. I can understand for other people of other age groups why the movies wouldn't have seemed so good. But it's kind of like the fans of 4-6 say "when we saw those for the first time it was actually ground breaking). 1-3 (to me and to a small number of others) will always seem like they where groundbreaking movies.

ground breaking implies doing something that hasn't been done before.

To expand on AnimeHeretic's comment, 1&2 (we don't know about 3 yet) weren't necesarily ground breaking. The only thing they did that hadn't been done before I suppose is never use real environments (that was more 2 than 1).
Maybe you can help us understand what you find ground breaking about it. Don't take this as bashing or sarcastic , I just want to know what you found groundbreaking.

Hmm...perhaps some of them. Perhaps even a majority of them. But you cannot use the modifier "all," since I'm sure that not every single one of them is doing it for charity. I'm sure some of them are just poor, lonely geeks who have nothing better to do.

Anyway...

I agree with AnimeHeretic and mastersquirrel. I will not argue with your position, as you have not stated what you considered ground-breaking about them, but I will say that as an "older" person, nothing that I saw in Episode I or II was something that hadn't been done before. Yes, the special effects were good, but I've seen other movies that were very special-effects oriented, such as Independence Day or Starship Troopers. So Star Wars, though good, wasn't ground breaking in the special effects department. The storyline, with its continuity errors, certainly wasn't either. Giant battles with hundreds of soldiers wasn't, since Braveheart had done that.

So, if you could please tell us exactly what you thought was ground-breaking, I would be happy to listen. ^^

I know 1 and 2 weren't "ground breaking" but they seemed that way to me at the time because I had never seen movies with any good effects at all except 4-6 so to my age group at the time they came out they seemed groundbreaking. 3 looks like it will be very dark and epic and General Greavious is gonna rock. I'm glad (for what I can judge so far) that when I finnaly have grown up in my movie standards (now) they are finnaly gonna come out with a great starwars movie (I think). I mean look at a trailer!
I know the trailers where great for the other ones but these are some of the best trailers I have ever seen. And anikan won't be doing as much wining. He will be doing a lot more of going evil. And he's gonna be Darth Vadar for at least part of this movie. Sure there may be some more crappy anikan and Padme seens but overall it looks (and I could be wrong) really freaken good.

The thing that struck me about the ads for the upcoming movie and the trailer I saw was how retro the characters looked. Anakin with his '70's Luke hairdo, Amidala looking like Leia, Obi wan looking closer to the Alec Guiness version. I really hope they do well with this one (the trailers looked excelent) but am wary because I was so disappointed by 1 and 2. Also I see they have a younger Chewbacca. I hated the kid Anakin and Kid Boba Fett, and 'younger' R2 and c3p0, so I'm not too thrilled about that.

I can see how people would find young Anakin annoying, but what was wrong with young Boba Fett?? He wasn't an in your face part of the plot like Anakin was. I thought it was cool to see his origins. And how is it that R2 and C-3PO were "younger". It's not like robots age ^^

I guess chronologically speaking, I should have said "earlier or newer." I thought it was stupid to say that 19 year old robots wouldn't have been long obsolete by the time they turned up in ep4. You'd think c3p0 would have known a good deal about Tatooine if he was built there. Things like that.

The kids in 1 and 2 just struck me as annoying altogether. This is opinion though and certainly don't think personal tastes are worth arguing over, so don't take my views as definitive.

Actually, the scenes with Anakin and Padame weren't at all annoying in the book. I guess It's just going to come down to how well they can do those scenes and if they actually only use the scenes in the book.

Yeah, there are a lot of threads of the plot that need to be tied together, but I think they'll take care of all if not most of those things.

Maybe. Personally, I'm betting on "Ignore", otherwise the movie would be four hours long ;)
