I think the MVP award should have gone to New York's Defensive Coaching Staff for the way they prepped their team against the Pats' offense. It was pretty much a flawless defense that clearly kept the Giants in the game and prevented the Pats from exploiting their own offense.
I would give them an A overall as the bonehead penalty at the end of the first quarter really gave the Pats the oppurtunity they needed to score.Though over all the Giants D did a "Giant" job in limiting the Pats offense to only two touchdowns in the entire game and keeping Moss silent throughout most of it.

Sorry. I've just always found it hilarious when people that could care less about God, thank Him for a touchdown, or a music award.

Although you meant to be general and critical only of people who thank God without really knowing or understanding Him, your post doesn't sound that way. You sound like you are scoffing at the idea of a devout Christian in the spotlight and dismissing any possibility of the athlete being sincere. You don't have to express your well-founded skepticism with the appearance of contempt and superiority (not that you are but it sounds that way), or add token apologies you don't mean even if they are a joke. At least the tone gives me no reason to believe you are sincere.

As for Tyree, although I don't know more about him than anyone, he's known as an outspoken Christian (you can read his testimony on Beyond the Ultimate and a more detailed, recent, moving one at nj.com), for rarely being without his Bible in the locker room, for witnessing to every single one of his teammates at the beginning of the season (0-2) about how God could impact things for good, for always testifying about his faith in Christ in interviews (bpnews.net has those two stories in a truly awesome column from before the Super Bowl with him and fellow Christian Giant Linebacker Reggie Torbor, and mentions his spiritual mentor, former Giants Quarterback Kurt Warner), and he runs (as of this time last year, giants.com) Next in Line ministries with his wife, Leila.

I think I would have to second this. By keeping Brady off his game, they really set the stage for the upset. If either the offense or the defense had been having a rotten day, it would have been over, but since BOTH played OK, it ended up how it did.

Do you have some sort of complex or what? Yes. Clearly I think that anyone famous hates God. Put some more words in my mouth why don't you. I spoke in general, and apparently I offended some member of your family or something. My main point still stands, that I find it funny how many people thank God for things...when they are not Christians. If you only ever spoke to someone like once a year....do you think they would care about your thanks?

Yes. Many athletes are Christians. I saw some RedSox dvd a while back that was quite eye opening as to how many players were Christians. And that is awesome. So if this guy is really a Christian, then that is awesome. But for you to throw a fit over me voicing my opinion....well, you just put a face on what I really don't like about some Christians. I would really love to respond to your little comment on "contempt and superiority" But honestly, it would only end up getting this thread locked. So, go right ahead and think whatever you want about what I said...but really, you're not impressing anyone with your little speech. I won't be posting on this thread again, so if you'd like to continue this, feel ever so free to PM me. Hopefully this thread can remain open.

Hmm, I thought Doubleshadow was being very reasonable. Yes, I think God is elated when people who are disconnected from him 364 days a year give Him thanks. I think God is more excited then than when His faithful followers thank Him, actually. Doubleshadow's little speech impressed me, so you're wrong. You're 23, which is more than old enough to be able to carry out a reasonable conversation without overreacting and "getting the thread locked" as you claim.

That's fascinating about Tyree, Doubleshadow. :D Very great to see someone being outspoken like that in a field that is typically secular.

And now I'm going to close the thread. Topic's dated, anyhow.
