No release date yet. There was a rumor for August, but that has already been confirmed not to be true. So we're still gunning for somewhere in September or October.

Seeing as how the show is on Netflix now I'm not too concerned with youtube episode takedowns...although I'd be willing to bet that Netflix is a North America (or even exclusively US) thing only so for viewers in other countries it's probably a pain.

THat's what Hotspot shield is for, though it's inconsistent with Netflix (we used it and it would just stop working every once and a while... I think Netflix must have backup checks to determine whether you're in the US)

My wife and I watched Netflix and Hulu when we were in Japan using Hotspot Shield.

Time for some speculation:
I saw my post where I talk about ballerina Spike and should have been not excited, now it sounds weird. *facehoof*
Anyway, that scene with Spike, in the Failure, Success Song has been bothering me. Why put in such an obvious distraction when the song is suppose to be focusing on Twilight. Why are they depicting Spike as happy and silly, when the emotion Twilight is trying to convey is uncertainty and sincerity.
Unless that scene has a specific purpose. I think the test Twi has to do has something to do with dancing in some way, perhaps a ball or performance. It does fit in with the rest of the song and hopefully they didn't just do it for the song, because the Spike scene really ruins the flow.

More fan theories, because I can. Non spoiler this time.
Earth ponies are naturally stronger than the other two races, this is widely accepted although not confirmed. Now Pound Cake's parents are both Earth ponies, which would explain why he has bursts of strength and why he's able to fly. Rumble can fly, but I'd bet he's somewhat older than Scootaloo and most likely have Pegasi parents.
So with this I deduce that both Scootaloo's parents are unicorns and that she's embarrassed by that.
That's why she can't fly yet and why she idolizes RD.

And there is no release date for the start of the Season yet, so still holding out for a September/October release. But we should know about 4 weeks before the season starts.

Too bad about Los Pegasus though. I know there was some debate whether it was Las Pegasus or Los Pegasus and I think Las Pegasus was the more supported version (I liked it better as well). But now that Los Pegasus is canon, no more Las Vegas reference, and everypony that wanted it to be 'Los' is going to gloat about it.

Haven't ranted in while (at least I don't think I have) been saving up for just such an occasion. So let me just like so and:

[spoiler]So apparently Lauren Faust has revealed that she never intended for Scootaloo to fly. That's right, Scootaloo was planned to be disabled, wishing to be like Rainbow Dash, but never being able to achieve that, being teased in school about her disability and having to learn that what you wish for isn't the same as what you can do and accepting that her true calling is her scooter.
And yes I have a MAJOR problem with this! And yes I'm biased towards Scootaloo! And no it's not a matter of thinking this couldn't work or they can't pull it off, because if anyone can, it's them.
Now it should be said that this was Lauren's idea when she created the show and not necessarily what will appear in the show and become canon, but it does mean that there is good chance it might.

Now I have nothing against a well executed tragedy, in fact on occasion I love watching or reading them. For example the 'My little Dashie' fanfic has all the makings of a good tragedy but imo lacks a lot of emotional buildup for the reader. What I do not like is sad stories purely for sadness sake, that has no substance or reason. A fanfic like the very popular 'Bubbles' for example imo just has no goal except to make you sad, which is stupid.
And at this point, using this arc for Scootaloo is sadness for sadness sake. First of all I never expected Scootaloo to learn to fly within the series, she is always learning to fly, just like Sweetie Belle is always waiting for her magic to kick in. (unless she's disabled too ) Keeping the CMC grounded just makes their adventures easier to handle and script, this I understand, but we don't need Scootaloo disabled to achieve this goal.
Secondly we've already had both Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash teased in school and now they want to do the same with Scootaloo! And Twilight and Apple Bloom was teased in school. We don't need any more stories or fuel for being teased, there's enough instances already that haven't been explored yet.
So there's no reason to do this to Scootaloo except for the sake of a sad story. Especially when Scootaloo could be a great source for the 'it takes a little more effort to reach your dreams' character or 'late bloomer' character. Especially since Sweetie Belle already is the 'what I wish for and what I'm good at is different' character. Wanting to do anything to be like Rarity but obviously have a completely different talent.

[spoiler]In a way I'm actually hoping that the whole Derpy thing let's Jayson take another approach to this or to avoid it completely, making it non canon always. Not against showing disability in the show, but it has to have purpose. Derpy was never meant to be portrayed as disabled, it's was just who she was and accepted by the fandom, which was a shame about all the rage. So there was some purpose in her character.
But if it's true that the reason for the rage was that Derpy was never shown to be nothing else but slow and clumsy with no good characteristics and Scootaloo have already been shown with many awesome characteristics they may just dare to try it again.[/spoiler]

But I can see your point, Bio, in that it would be a wrong move to turn Scootaloo into this type of character. And while it probably will happen (Lauren Faust may no longer be showrunner, but the rest of the production crew certainly do respect her) we can always hope. [/spoiler]

So after listening to it again very carefully, and this time I have a link to the video, I think there's some more information to be taken from it. I don't know how much of a spoiler this is or even if it is. But considering we're very near to the 3rd season I'm going to keep it in spoiler tags.

[spoiler]This idea Lauren had for Scootaloo was suppose to be about three episodes throughout S1&S2, which again I feel is way too short for such a major issue. But since it didn't ever appear in those seasons it could mean that it was scrapped, it could also explain why we haven't gotten any Scootaloo episodes yet.[/spoiler]
