hey all,its been a while.

Out of curiousity,is anyone as obsessed with the Phantom as I am?
I've really gotten into recently and am a diehard Phangirl.

I've seen the original movie and the musical movie with Gerard Butler. I like them both.

I've read part of the book (still haven't finished it XD), seen the play off-Broadway, and of course I've seen the movie (pretty sure I saw it three times in theaters). XD I love the story and the music, and I think the play and the movie both are fantastic. XD I'm not like, a die-hard POTO fan, for sure, but I do enjoy it quite a bit. XD

I took my sister to see the play twice when it came to LA... I invited my mom to come too but she got really sick when it came time but it turns out they had a special deal where if you came back before its final LA show, you could get the tickets half off... so we went again a month later or so and my mom came a long too. It was a promotion code so anyone could have used the code... I know now to search the internet for promotional codes whenever buying tickets and stuff now

It was cool. I was never crazy about the movie. I liked the concept and stuff and the story I just felt the movie was a little messy. The play fixed all those things I had problems with. They were subtle but it made it work so much better... not to mention the play was a lot more gothic and atmospheric... the movie had to much clean lighting. Instead of being lighted by gold colorings and such, I thought the phantoms lair should have been lit by blue lighting and more fog... and it was that way in the play so I liked it. The phantom was more mysterious too in the play. But yeah, really liked the play a lot more than I thought so I wasn't against going again at half price... I thought it was visually fun to watch and the sound was really good. I don't know, something about watching something that spectacular live with that many special effects was just a real treat to watch.

I haven't seen the play, but I liked the movie. I read the book, and it was COMPLETELY different.

I've seen the silent movie with Lon Chaney and that's about it. I might have read the play in middle school, though.

Lon Chaney made an awesome Phantom. One person in my Film class actually screamed when he turned around! It was fantastic!

I've read the book, thought it was pretty boring for my then 18 year old mind XD It just wasn't as exciting as the musical/movie!

I've also read the synopsis of the terrible sequel...terrible so terrible.... It's supposedly canon, but...WHAT? It's...it's...not even on par with the awesomeness of the original musical...

I have seen the movie. I lost interest in it when the main character sings "keep your hand at the level of your eye" for about three solid minutes and then drops his hand as soon as he sees the Phantom. Dude, you deserve to be strangled.

I've only seen the movie and a play. I'm planning on reading the book in the near future though.

Yes!! I love that play! Haven't seen the movie(s?) yet, but I've been to the play twice (once when I was a kid and then again a few years ago), and I have the original London cast recording CD set, too. (I did read the book as well, but I didn't like it at all...! ) But yeah, I love the play, and I'd recommend it to pretty much anyone.
