real sports?

Postby supa dupa ninja » Sun Feb 15, 2004 1:34 pm

Is the x-sports (skateboarding, snowboarding, rollerblading etc.)
considered real sports? (as in basketball, football etc.)
or is it in the area of nascar, or other vehicular events?
discuss.

Hmmmm....well, I htinmk they fall under "sports", because it is a physical activity that someone is doing. I think they're differant from Nascar in the sence that some one is up and doing something active, rather than stiing down and driving. -_- I guess it kinda depends on how you define the word "sport".

The X Games must not be real sports, because I enjoy the X Games :lol: Just kidding...

Uh, well, it's physical activity isn't it? And they're competing against each other...sounds like sports to me ^_^;

I think real sports are ddefined as ones that take a certain amount of athletic ability and skill. Unless you want to separate between athletic and non athletic sports? I always thought sports were athletic though . . .

...doesn't having a category called "real" sports assume that there's another category for "fake" sports as antithesis? XD

well they are kinda "pseudosportish", and they do involve aerobic exercises.
