The Adventure of Milo and Otis

Postby KhakiBlueSocks » Fri Dec 01, 2006 11:58 pm

I know somebody remembers this movie! Basically it's about this friendship between a tabby cat (Milo) and a pug nosed dog (Otis). This movie, which was made in Japan and took 4 years to create, really rocks my socks! Anyone remember it? Share your memories here!

Milo and Otis! I remember how bad I felt for the poor dogs during winter...

And the part with the cat in the box with crows hanging around...that was scary...@.@

Wow. I vaguely remember this movie. I think it used to play every year around Christmas time when we were all at my Auntie's house for the holiday.

I remember a part where Milo is in all these drawers.... and running along the train tracks.

I saw it back in the cinemas in 1987 ( that's when it came to Australian shores). A very good family animal movie - very clever and well done. My first cinema experience (I was 5 years old).
It was made by the Japanese but dubbed into English for the English-speaking market.
I wrote a sequel to it in Reception (Grade 0).

*waves at W4J*

I didn't realise that it was made in Japan when I first watched it. I thought it was such a sad movie at the time, though. I'd like to see it again just to see if its any different from how I remember it.

Sweet movie, one of my favorites as a child, although I don't remember much about it because its been years since I last seen it. I think the cat and dog got split up by accident, and didn't the dog end up with a mate by the end?

You see the whole family at the very end of the movie! It's really cute when they're on their way back home and they're walking under the cherry blossom trees. The setting for the movie was very, VERY well done--it looked so barren, yet full of life, if that makes any sense. Even the barn doesn't look human made.

I used to LOVE this movie. XD I don't know what it was about it, but I loved watching it. I never knew it was made in Japan, though. I just figured it was like...in the countryside or something. The cows made me think that, I guess. XD Anyways, I have very fond memories of this movie. :D

Ah yes, this movie does have fond memories. I was very young when I first saw it; I've probably seen it once since then. I think the adventure starts with one of them (maybe Milo?) wondering onto a raft in the river which floats away, and hence they become separated and leave the farm?

Anyway, I want to see it again.

ok guys, for everyone of you who want to see it again here's what you need to do

go to your local walmart, then go to the electronics department and find the big bin marked "2 for $11", look through that bin and you should find copies of various b movies, and amongst those movies you should find milo and otis, that is of course providing that the walmarts in my area haven't somehow cornered the marked in cute cuddly animal movies narrated by dudley moore
