Note: I am not asking for sites for illegally downloading programs but rather free programs in which I can edit and convert
my portfolio (a .mov file) into a .qt file so I can upload it to my
portfolio site. Can you guys help me with this?

If you're looking to convert, there's a few things. I use Handbrake or another, I can't remember what it's called. When I get to my computer next, I'll try to update.
For things to actually edit movies...I'm afraid I can't help.

It can depend on what kind of computer you use. I use a Mac, so I've found stuff in the Downloads section of the Apple website for some software here and there. It's free and legal.

Have you tried VLC?

I use Mac Os X 10.4
T_T so I download ffmpegX, and now I tell it to encode and it asks me where is Progress.app. I don't know where that is!?!?!? Program didn't tell me to download that. I didn't even know there was a Progress.app:stressed:
You guys know where I can download that?

I have no idea what that's talking about. I know you have to go to ffmpegX->Install Binaries to link it to the place where you've got mpet2enc, mencoder, and mplayer, but I don't know about "progress.app" for that. I've never seen that one. Maybe you have a newer version than I do.
