Google Chrome is EATING MY POSTS!

Let's say you've just typed a long post up, and suddenly start editing and accidentaly hang for a second on the backspace button. In Google Chrome it sends your page back and as a result wipes out your post (going forward doesn't help, its already gone). Does anyone know how to disable the backspace in Google as a back button. I'm tired of losing my great walls of text!

There are a few ways to do it.
Just google "disable backspace navigation" or something of the sort. Lotsa stuff should come up.

This is happened to me more times than I care to admit. I don't even use Google Chrome.

It might have something to do with what part of the window is active. I know on occasion I've accidentally clicked outside the typing field, after which hitting backspace has made me go back a page. Of course, some times it just goes back whether I've done that or not, so maybe my web browser's just a jerk.

There seems to be a Fire Fox extension for such a thing, but I didn't read all of it, so here's hoping there's something for Google Chrome as well ^^

Opera keeps your entered data on the forms if you go back and forward again... so.. try that?

Responses like these are the sole reason I will never buy a Mac.

Though consequently, the only browser I've ever used that I don't remember doing this is Internet Explorer. Not that I'm suggesting anybody switch to that.

So far, what I found to disable the backspace Google Chrome is a code that you have to type in.

I have look and look for an any add on that Google Chrome may have, but I can't find anything for disable the backspace in Google as a back button.

When I first saw this thread, I thought I couldn't help. But now I realize I can. This happens to me in Firefox quite often. Well, let me rephrase. I utilize this feature quite often when I need to reread the posts to which I am responding. I'm not sure how it works in Chrome, but I imagine it's quite similar.

Anyway, if you accidentally or intentionally hit the back button, whether it be from your 5-button mouse or the backspace key, you can hit the forward button (either at the top, through the context-menu, or a button on your mouse/keyboard), and your text will be preserved. I'm so confident that I will now test this here, on CAA.

Be advised, however, that it does not work with the "quick post" option at the bottom of the thread.

This happened to me last night in Firefox (I think, might've been Chrome) and when I hit forward my reply didn't come back, but when I hit ctrl+z (undo) after hitting forward, then my reply reappeared. You might want to give that a shot as well.
