I'm looking for a program that will erase all cookies, history logs, MRUs, etc, from my computer and is compatible with IE 6 (sigh). My dad keeps bugging me about it... Anyway, I was hoping someone could save me some time (and wasted download space, and possible virus infection...LOL) by telling me where I could get one...hopefully for free...LOL
Thanks!

First of all you can download Tweak UI, for the net history, from Microsoft's website. There is a program from
AnalogX that is more of a Cookie blocker, but I think it deletes too. Yep it does. Here are the links:
Cookie Wall
Tweak UI XP version (XP Power Toys)
Win9x and ME Tweak UI
Those are the programs I know of that will clear browser history, cookies, field forms and such. Those are all I know off the top of my head. They are both free, of course.

I used to have Tweak UI...hmm...I wonder why I don't have it anymore...O.o
Anyway, I should be a little more specific, sorry...I need all this in one program if possible. It needs to be as simple as possible.

I don't like Evidence Eliminator. It costs too much and I don't like how they try to scare you into buying their software. I use the free Zone Alarm that may work better and updating it regularly helps also. Tiny Firewall may be a good alternative choice if you're having troubles with ZoneAlarm.
Inkhana here are some programs I found that seem to be the Jack of All Trades solution your dad's looking for:
Wipe - This is freeware and is only available for Windows 2000/XP. So I haven't been able to try it since I have only Win98.
OR
R-Wipe & Clean - This program is shareware and costs 19 dollars to keep. I've looked through it and it seems to have what you're looking for.

None of the above recommendations are worth trying out, instead use these programs:
Spybot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/
MRU-Blaster
http://www.wilderssecurity.net/mrublaster.html
Turn on all file sets on Spybot and then clean house, nothing of your history, cookies, cache, MRU lists, anything will remain when you're done. MRU blaster catches what Spybot doesn’t, which isn't much. But since MRU blaster runs much quicker than Spybot it's better for a quick swipe versus an in-depth inspection. MRU-Blaster also will specifically target IE cache and temp files if you tell it too.
I WOULD STRONGLY RECCOMEND YOU USE A DIFFERENT BROWSER THAN IE, IT KEEPS HIDDEN SYSTEM ONLY PROTECTED FILES CONTAINING YOUR BROWSER URL HISTORY WHICH CAN ONLY BE DELETED THROUGH COMPLEX FILE MANIPLUATION AND A COMPUTER RESTART.
But if you insist on using IE this program
http://www.fsm.nl/ward/ will delete these files for you.
You might think about using Mozilla or if you’re a geek Firebird (mozilla.org for both)

I'm looking for a program that will erase all cookies, history logs, MRUs, etc, from my computer and is compatible with IE 6
Learn to do it manually - click Tools>Internet Options
and then click the Delete Cookies, Delete Files, and Delete History buttons.
As for MRUs, here is a nice free cleaner:

See, ya don't have to pay anything now :-)

Despite the fact that he's a troll, lexicalunit is totally correct. Stay away from IE. It's bad news. I know I sound like a broken record, but some really dangerous security holes exist in IE. Even if you have anti-virus software and you are behind a firewall, you can STILL have your computer comprimised, and used as a jump platform for hacks, etc. It's really scary stuff!

Tell my dad that... He doesn't listen to anything I tell him. And all those crashes don't seem to change his mind...Microsoft can do no wrong for him. Grah.

OK. I think I found a program that will erase all these things...
'Delete c:\Program Files\Microsoft\IE'
