I have McAfee. It's a major/well known antivirus program that is fast to respond to newly released viruses from not-cool people. I like that it can be set to automatically update too. I'm pleased with it so far. My family has almost always used that since our first antivirus program. Norton is also a major antivirus program. I don't know exactly how it works, but I would trust them to be good as well.

Symantec and Microtrend offer solid anti-virus programs and best of all they've got trial offers for 90 days. Or you can try McAfees' for 12 months though it does lack a few features Norton will have.

PCcillian is a good one. My computer buddy uses this one and intall it on my dad's computer when we had it built.

Its very fast as scanning for virus.

I have Norton and I like it too, but its a bit slower on scanning for virus and I may go with PCcillian one day.

On my emulated Windows machines under Virtual PC, I use Norton, although I'm looking at Kapersky as a cheaper alternative. Norton 2004 is good at rooting out spyware, however, and people who suspect their system has a few unexpected guests might want to see what NAV turns up.

McAfee for anti-virus, Zone Alarm Pro for firewall, AdAware for spyware. Between those three, nothing has gotten through (or stayed around for long). Very happy with all of them.

PCcillian is the way to go

and Mcaffee is evil

watch out! anti-virus programs also tend to install annoying programs onto your computer (they're not like.... destructable, but like popups, spyware, that stuff) so get rid of them by going to the task manager. I had a list of programs listed in teh task manager but i lost it, i'll see if i can find it
