Blinking Light

Postby Shao Feng-Li » Wed Sep 10, 2008 9:48 pm

My battery in my laptop is permanently dead. My laptop reminds me every start up. The battery indicator light on the laptop chassis is contstantly blinking orange and stops when I take the battery out. I'd leave the battery out, but it has one of the laptop's "feet."

How do I make the orange light stop blinking!?

1. Replace the battery.

2. Put a small piece of electrical tape over the light. That won't stop it from blinking, but you won't be able to see it anymore.

3. Carve out the light with a knife.

4. It's possible that you may be able to disable the light through the BIOS. Look for a F8 Setup type message while booting. It will tell you the right function key to enter the bios. It's usually F8 or F10, but can very by make and model.

Can I have $150 for a new battery? :(

Alright, I'll see what I can screw up in the BIOS, heh.
