My Dad Was nerely killed....

Postby Shao Feng-Li » Thu Jan 15, 2004 1:27 pm

my dad was driving home from work last night. it was raining, hence the slick roads. Driving over mt st helena isnt fun either. He caem around the corner and there was another car, and there was simplty no where to go. the strnger hit my dad, smashing the front and taering of the tire, and servered the transmission- all on the driver side. Im glad i wasnt there. my dad only was hurt from the air bag and seat belt. minor burns was all. he was sore as you ca imagine. But no one was hurt, including the father and three kids in the other car

once i knew that he was alright, i learned that trhe 2003 6 cylindar Mitsubishi eclipse GT with infintiy sound system and leather insides was totalled... and i never got the chance to cruise through San fransico in it.

It just hit me that my dad could have died- that i could have lost him... but God didnt let him. It's true that we dont ave any Garrentie of our next heartbeat.

hey, glad to hear your dad is all right. and too bad about the car. if it's any consolation, at least you had nothing to do with it. i nearly cut off my dad's thumb...thank God it was an "almost".

I'm glad he was okay! Myself, I've walked away from at least one accident I had no right to walk away from, so I know the experience well. I'm very happy to hear God was watching out for him.

I'm thankful that God protected your dad. It's awesome how He works. ^_^ I remember witnessing my first airbag injury. I asked the EMT if the man hit the glass and to my surprise, he told me the injuries were from the airbag. Your dad must be very sore, indeed. It's great there were no fatalities. It's good when things like this happen, sometimes to remind us how we need to appreciate the fact we have someone alive in our lives. ^_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

My pastor once said that it would be neat to see one day how the Lord has truly never left us or forsaken us. He said that he would like to see all of the times that God watched our back (and saved our skins) that we didn't even realize. Having cheated death myself from infancy, (and more recently) I can definitely say God has watched my back as he did your dad's.

Praise God.
Our lives are but a vapor, let us not let waste our time and breath on vanities, but let us spend ourselves for the Kingdom, seeking a better resurrection.
