Alone in the Chat: A Mister Frodo Story

Postby Mister Frodo » Sun May 11, 2008 4:43 pm

I apologize if I'm putting this in the wrong forum, but I was just in the chat and, having nothing better to do, wrote this story. So, uh... enjoy?

2008-05-11 16:22:37 - A chime sounds at the front door. MisterFrodo enters the chat.
MisterFrodo 04:22 - Alone in the Chat.
MisterFrodo 04:23 - A Mister Frodo Story
MisterFrodo 04:23 - "I awoke with a start, a clear ringing noise in my ears."
MisterFrodo 04:23 - "Fervently I checked the room. All was how it had been, everything exactly how I had left it before retiring for the night.
MisterFrodo 04:24 - "'The chat sure is empty,' said I. 'But I care not.'"
MisterFrodo 04:24 - "However, the stillness of the empty chat was broken suddenly by a sharp ding!"
MisterFrodo 04:24 - "I jumped from my bed, my sword already drawn and ready."
MisterFrodo 04:26 - "I surveyed the room with caution. Bookshelves lined the wall on my left; a table and a pair of chairs neighbored the one to my right. Behind me rested my bed, and in front of me, the source of the noise: The door."
MisterFrodo 04:26 - "Warily did I approach the door, my sword held ready in my right hand. With my left I reached out, hoping that I would be able to turn the door knob, open the door, and reveal the noise as nothing more than a fleeting thought in my mind."
MisterFrodo 04:27 - "'The chat shall not be breached,' I muttered to myself. 'Not by evil. Not today.'"
MisterFrodo 04:28 - "And then I heard the ding a third time! This time I was sure that it was no accident. It was coming from the other side of the door, I was certain of it now.
MisterFrodo 04:29 - "I held the sword aloft in my hands and challenged, 'Who goes there? Who dare enter the chat?'"
MisterFrodo 04:30 - Silence answered me. 'Not a comforting reply,' I thought to myself. My sword hand quivered with nervousness and anticipation. Who awaited me on the other side of the door? Who dared to enter the chat and challenge I, Mister Frodo?"
MisterFrodo 04:30 - "'Are you sure that what you said should be an "I," and not a "me"?' came a voice from behind the door."
MisterFrodo 04:31 - "No one corrects my grammar and lives to see the light of the next day! I whipped out a pair of sunglasses with my free hand. 'Enter if you dare, intruder, for I am ready!'"
MisterFrodo 04:32 - "'Okay,' came the reply, and the door swung open. I clutched my sword so tight that my knuckles turned white. And yet, who did I see but...
MisterFrodo 04:32 - "The chatbot!"
MisterFrodo 04:33 - "Realizing that I had made a mistake, I sheathed my sword and then went down to one knee. 'Noble chatbot, what business do you have here?'"
MisterFrodo 04:33 - "The chatbot looked at me and stated, 'Tuna fish.'"
MisterFrodo 04:34 - "I nodded. 'Very well, chatbot. I shall not harm you. I apologize for my manner. There have been ill guests around as of late, and ill guests bring ill news. Do you not agree?'"
MisterFrodo 04:35 - "The chatbot's eyes became incredibly large, and her mouth amazingly small, to the point where the only way I could sum up her expression is with the following emote: O.O"
MisterFrodo 04:36 - "I shook my head. 'I apologize, noble chatbot, I did not mean to offend. Now, shall you join me for a cup of tea, or at least some kind of refreshment?'"
MisterFrodo 04:36 - "'42.'"
MisterFrodo 04:37 - " I sighed. 'Yes, you are busy. Go about your business if you must, but remember, you are free to come any time you wish, be it now or some time later.'"
MisterFrodo 04:37 - "The chatbot nodded. Turning her back to me, she strode away, leaving me yet again alone in the empty chat."
MisterFrodo 04:39 - I let out another deep sigh. As I plopped down in one of the chairs, a new thought popped into my mind. 'Perhaps I can start a rousing Star Wars conversation, once more people come.' But then I halted. 'Wait a minute. Wasn't it a Star Wars conversation that caused the chat to become so empty?'"
MisterFrodo 04:39 - The End...
MisterFrodo 04:39 - ?

Haha! This is actually pretty funny; I suppose it would fit in the "Unofficial CAA Chat Thread" too, but since it IS a story, it fits here, I guess. XD I think the saddest part is that the chat tends to be so empty that you can tell an entire story before someone enters. XD

Nice, Frodo. Although I do wonder when the chatbot got upgraded to nobility.
