Haiku, anyone?

Postby oro! » Tue May 10, 2005 1:49 pm

I thought it would be cool if maybe we had a thread of haiku poems.
So  UNLEASH THE L33T WRITING SKILLS UPON [_]S
Just write one, say what it's about, that kinda thing.
Here goes one of mine:

Rain taps on the roof
Thunder rolls in the heavens
She jumps out of bed

Heh, I know, the ending could have been more glorious, but anyway...it was about how this thunder struck right next to my room one Saturday, middle of the morning. Scared me half to death, along with confusing the heck outta me, 'cause I thought it was night.

Once lightning struck a building right next to ours. I didn't see it, but everyone else said everything went blue. O_O

Hmm... here's my haiku

I sit here and type
While the keyboard clitter-clacks
And now I hit post.

Lol, couldn't think of much to write about.

Great one, Mithrandir!
Man I couldn't stop laughing for a good while.

Cat sits on my desk
She is too close to the edge
Crash! Snarl! she falls off

 That's great!
Outside my window
A fantail flutters and dives.
There goes a spider.

In other words, our house is bird and spider infested. ;)

Are you sure "snarl" is one only one syllable?

Hum! Hoom! That could be debated!
But, then wouldn't crash be two as well? Guess not...
Maybe it could go:
Cat sits on my desk
Dallas is on its far ledge
Crash! Scratch! she falls off

"Pride grows in the human heart like lard on a pig." Aleksander Solzhenitzen (so call me on it)

I hear a glottal stop in there, but I'm certainly the authority on linguistics here. Is Shooby or thesilence around? Either of them would either know or know someone who would know.
