The Tale of Robin Hood and John Little

This is another poem I wrote in British Literature (see Death Beckons). There was no contest this time but I'm proud of it anyways.

The Tale of Robin Hood and John Little:

Robin Hood set out one day,
Upon a merry morn.
He took just his quarterstaff
And his trusty horn.

He walked and walked and walked
Till he found a merry river.
And on the other side stood a merry man
That made him all but shiver.

To cross that merry river there
A log was the only way.
And there they dueled with quarterstaffs
For the right of way.

They blocked and they parried all that day
Their quarterstaffs were long.
And as they fought and battled
They sang a merry song.

Finally Merry Robin was defeated.
He said, “Thou hast won.â€

"The principles are settled. Life is the pageant of men and women living up to them or failing to live up to them--and I think that to-day, if we are to save ourselves, we need to close our minds, to take honors worth for granted and to escape back into certaity from the atmosphere of eternal questioning."
