Hopeful Dreams - my attempt at poetry

Postby Destroyer2000 » Mon Feb 19, 2007 7:47 pm

This is actually the second poem I have written of my own will. I'm not a poet by any means, but I would like to know how it is, and how I can improve on it:

Hopeful Dreams

Hopeful, wishful dreams
Rise to the cloudless skies
Like burning stars
As a man’s heart flies!

The celebrated beauty
Held by a gentle innocence
Resonates like a beacon
By her sudden appearance!

As their hands clasp
And the pair take a stance
Love takes a tangible form
As the two dance!

The lights fade
The music plays
Couples swing
And hearts are ablaze

The night wears on
The symphony goes on
With the hope of a love
For the eternal dawn!

And yes, this was written with someone special in mind.
