Well techincally there is another really old post about this series, but it wasn't really informative so I'm starting this one. :thumb:

There's only 3 volumes in this series, and I've almost managed to read them all, and I'm loving it! Honestly this is a series I would feel comfortable recommending to any age person it is so clean. :) It's also refreshing to see a series that doesn't require someone to die in order for it to be a mystery. ;) Hehe, and I just love Pochi the ... Peacock!

Oh and I'll say this since it was brought up in the old thread about this series. The reason the boys' uniforms have really short shorts is because that is how lots of the uniforms are for elementary school boys in Japan v(I've seen it, and I must say I found it slightly disturbing, lol). So no CLAMP is not trying to sell their sex appeal with the short shorts.

I think it is also relatively important to note that the school is in a shape of a pentagram. If it weren't for that, I would have loved the books

There is a reason for that. (Read X, specificly volume 8)

If you love the main CLAMP school series you should check out CLAMP School Defenders Dukylon and Man of Many Faces. Both of those series are only 2 volumes. MoMF stars Akira from Detectives, and Dukylon stars a power rangers duo, and it crosses over a lot with Detectives as well.

Oh my goodness, I love this series; it's great. I let my three-year-old brother look at it, it's that clean. It's a shame that it's only 3 volumes. The art is so good...but then it's old-school CLAMP...and the boys are so chivalrous. I wish the boys at my school acted more like that!

The anime is great too. The first half is episodic mysterys and character development, like the manga, but the second half has a larger plot and a real villian.

Yay! I'm glad that other people like this manga too! :) Good point Talame about the pentagram, but in CLAMP School Detectives they sort of just mention it, and don't worship it or use it to obtain power or anything of that sort. I'm sure some people who don't know what a pentagram is would see it and be like "oh look the school makes a star shape!" XD

They kept advertising CLAMP School Defenders Dukylon and Man of Many Faces in School Detectives so now I think I am going to have to check them out after all. :) I love cross over stories!
