what are manga books?

i've heard of manga/anime books and i've even seen one it had no pictures wierd huh? well if u know anything about these please tell me cause it makes no sense 2 me.THANKS
Manga in Japan is any book with pictues
In the US we use that term to mean Japanese "comics"
