You know Evanescence's song, "My Tourniquet"? They didn't write that. It's actually a toned-down version of the original song by a band called Soul Embraced. It's almost hilarious how the vocalist sings it. Big difference from Amy Lee's soft vocals.

Ahh...heavy metal...

Anyway, I loved both versions. But oddly enough, I found Evanescence's version more depressing.

I like Evanescence, although I wouldn't buy their album (at full price anyway), I think they have a good sound. I just wish the radio would play something other than 'Wake Me Up Inside'. I know a lot of people who don't dig them simply on the basis that they hear that song too much. They were playing the whole cd in a comic book store once, and it was pretty cool. The kind of music I could see myself listening to on a Discman during a long car trip.

Rocky Gray was in Soul Embraced...and thus thats how Evanescence ended up adding that to there Fallen CD. As Rocky is there drummer. I personaly prefer the Evanescence verson myself...but that could be because I think Amy Lee is one of the most talented female vocalists I have ever heard. Listen to there real old stuff like the EPs and Origin. She shows off some serious vocals on those...

I must agree. It's too different worlds.

Amy: My God, my Tourniquet!
Dude from Soul Embraced: MAA WAH, MAA TORNOWET!
