My least favorite woul have to be Backstreet Boys.
Well, they have gotten better seeing how they switched from Teen Pop to Rock..

No offense intended, but this is like the fourth thread I've seen about this come up. I see it getting locked fairly soon.

Rock bands don't hold multiple objects together quite as well as rubber bands do.

ROFL, Melody Maker. PUN'D! XD
Anyways. Favorite would undoubtedly be Mae. Because they're just that awesome. This is followed by Coldplay, Billy Joel, Copeland, and Eisley. Because they're that awesome, too.
Least favorite is pretty much anyone who sounds like Nickelback, and anyone who sounds like Fall Out Boy. XD Any screamo, metal, or people who can't sing go in this category as well. *realizes she has quite the large least favorite category.*

'GAAAAAAAAAAAAAASP' 'Starts gagging...dies'
...
...
...'is brought back to life by sheer will power'
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Ok, I'm sorry, but I really don't get why people DON'T like screaming in music. It's so expressive, especially when blended with really astounding vocals and even better when it's like really pop - style vocals and then theres a wdk breakdown...but thats not the point...You can express massive outbursts of emotion, as if something was just tearing to get out, express times of pain and suffering, express great energy (my personal favourite), get a pounding rythem going. As I said, also really great for breakdowns.
And before you call me a metal head, I do love singing as well, (Nightwish, Incubus, Daft Punk, Gackt, Evanescence, Muse, Coldplay and many others). There are just so many types of music for different times that its insane (insane I tell ye) to say that singing is better than screaming because that disqualifies so many different genres of music. Plus there are different types of screaming (it is true). You listen to Atreyu and Emery, or Still Remains and Mad Capsules Markets (RIP 1990 - 2006) and you'll hear that they are expressing themselves differently through different pitches, tones and sounds...
...'gasp'...ok I beaten 'flips on some Funeral For A Friend'
...Oh yeah, and best is - Mad Capsule Markets/Luna Sea (I know they are completely opposite in style but I believe that the greatest band in the world would be a mix of the two that blended the styles perfectly)
Worst - Just overplayed stuff really - Anything off American Idiot...and overplayed Queen stuff. Though most bands recieve their respectability back when everybody lays them to rest (finally) e.g Linkin Park, Evanescence (Im sure I've had most of this conversation in the overplayed songs thread :S)

Ok, well have fun listening to your screaming music. XD I'll be over here listening to my Michael Buble and Keane.
Seriously, though, I just don't like the way it sounds when people scream in music. It's not the only form of expression, either. Did the great jazz artists of the early 1900's have to scream to get their emotions across? Naaah. It's really just a matter of taste, and my tastes don't lean that way. It's cool, though.

I have to say, Mae is really good. They are the only band of that genre I enjoy.
It seems like Girly music, and "The Ocean" won`t get out of my head.

Favourite: Not overall, but currently, Bush. Sure, they aren't together anymore, but the music is charmingly retro. Even their latest stuff (circa 2001) sounds like it came from 1994. The music, while nothing new, just doesn't sound like today's rock. No synth stuff or crazy electronic stuff (save The Science of Things album), and no hip-hop infusion. It's honest, strong music, and while a lot of it really isn't that great, it's still better than all of the alt-rock on the radio today. Plus, the band is not only good live, but sound even better than they do on the albums.
Least: Staind. Do I even need to write anything about them? No. No, I do not.

My current favorite right now is Raein. Probably the best screamo band to ever enter the scene. Sadly they have broken up now, but they were some of the best emotional hardcore punk I've ever heard.
Some other favorites mainly consist of grindcore, like Destroyer! Destroyer!, Daughters, Ed Gein, The Number 12 Looks Like You, and the Fall of Troy.
Plus Job for a Cowboy just for some good ole death metal.
My least favorite would probably be anything on the radio right now, or in the past 10 years, except for maybe weezer.

Fav bands would be Evanescence, Cold, and Rammstein. Least fav is Green Day. They pretty well sold out to sell albums. (I am speaking of making there lyrics political because nobody gave a rip anymore about them) Also getting honorary mention is PODs self titled album. Thank goodness there new CD was good.

Least Favorite: Any singer/band promoted by Disney. And considering I spend a good amout of time around preteens I hear that sort of thing very often...

I don't think I can name just one favorite but here are a few categories here for me. Favorite bands that are together right now are Showbread, mewithoutYou, and Blindside. Then, my favorite band that has broken up would be At the Drive-In. Then, my all-time favorite band that stands above all of those is my beloved Five Iron Frenzy.
Least favorite? Mindless Self Indulgence, Bloodhound Gang.
