Evanescence has CDs older then "fallen"?

Yesterday someone told me evanescence had albums from before they signed with wind-up. Apparently they produced in every limited copies, a self titled cd, "sound asleep", "not for your ears", and "origin". I was reading the lyrics of some of the songs... and some of them we're actually quite worshipful, such as "october".
I tried to find the albums off itunes, but to no avail. The next trick will be finding a place to legally buy the mp3s!

You can't buy those. They're only available on p2p networks like Limewire and Kazaa. Amy Lee has given permission for us to download them freely anyway.
"Sound Asleep" was an EP. "Origin" is a full-length, but Amy regards it as an unfinished demo. "Not For Your Ears" is really the demos from "Fallen", plus a song called "You" that is forbidden to download whatsoever.

This happens a lot to bands when they get popular. I remember how surprised I was when I'd heard that Soul Asylum had, like, three albums before "Black Gold" was out.

Lynx, as others have mentioned...they dropped a few EPs before they hit it big with Fallen. And as others have said, P2P networks are the best place to get them...as they fetch like 500 a pop on Ebay since there rare. If you can't find the songs though...PM me and I will see if there is somthing I can do to help you.

Because it was a song for her close friends and family.
It got leaked online by a jerk named Brad Caviness. I've had a conversation with the guy, and he only cares about himself and his piles of cash (He claims to have discovered them). He also sells fake "re-releases" of Origin on Ebay for lots of money. I recommend you far away from him.
One more thing... you can't legally buy anything put out by Wind-Up Records online anyway. They don't believe in copy-protection, and what the music stores do is put protection on their files so you can only do so much with them.

There is a website that has direct downloads of the old material except for Origin.
You have to be a member of the forums though.

Is it free to join though? And is that legal?
If so, I'm interested. How different sounding is their older stuff?

Yeah.

Yes, because Amy Lee has given verbal permission more than once. She says it's better than paying hundreds of dollars the band won't even see.

It's got more of a techno influence as it was only Amy, Ben and whoever wanted to collaborate. There were a couple songs with some nice solos though.

Yep, there are several tracks which can be requested at
http://www.christianindustrial.net , which tends to be pretty responsive to requests. And while there, don't miss out of some of the pretty good gothic and industrial music they have there. I tend to be fond of Batzz in the Belfry, Regenerator, Audio Paradox, The Eternal Chapter, The Awakening, Coriolis, Virgin Black, Beauty for Ashes, and Saviour Machine, among others.

I know this thread was posted ages ago but if anyone is still interested in the old Evanescence songs, check out fieldsofinnocence.com. I found the site a while back and they have just about every single song available for download including songs never released on their EPs or Origin. I went through and downloaded everything they had
(oh I meant they have every single legal song for download)

Big thanks for the link, but this is what I get:

The error returned was:

Hmm, yea I just checked. They aren't exactly working correctly for me either (its not telling me anything... its just blank). I know that before you can download anything, you have to register but yea the links don't seem to be working correctly anyway. Bummer. They had everything.
All I can say is check back in a few days, see if they come back up

Seems like a cool site, but it seems the links to the songs were taken down. Hopefully it gets back up soon. They seem to have all the rare hard to find tracks. It took me weeks to find all those tracks when I first got into Evanescence. The Nirvana covers, the early demo's, the radio acoustics. Good stuff.

Songs are back up so I guess it was just a little site bug.
