That hand thing is usually associated with heavy metal. Metal fans use it when they rock out. The little guy is rocking out.

wha....? What does that have to do with UT?

And actually...his thumb is sticking out. Which means that it is sign language for "I love you"!

I cant tell if he has his thumb out or not, but if he does then it actually is the symbol for Deaf Pride or I Love You. But if his thumb is in, then it is the Satan horns started by Gene Simmons of KISS that are synonymous with Rock and Roll or heavy metal.

Or the "Devil Horns" where you extend you're index finger and pinky finger and not you're thumb.

But that's stupid.

Actaully it was not started by Gene Simmons. I belive it was started by Rob Halford of Judas Priest. And while some people get all uptight about it, I do it quite often at concerts. \m/ It simply means rock on. It's as much a part of rock and roll as long hair and flannel. But everyones free to belive whatever they want. *laughs*

I've actually heard that there are some subtle differences between the sign language for devil and the rock on sign. I have no idea what they are, however.

The "Hook 'em Horns" thing. It's what UT fans do at sporting events to show their support for the team.
