Hey...I've been trying to listen to this for the last few days and I just can't get myself to like it...I did notice that a lot of the songs had to do with God...that and the land, or drinking, or coffee...about half of you guys are from Texas, though, right? What do you guys think about country music?

Bleh! Can't stand it. I have to listen to it a lot at work though...the other waitresses are huge CMT [Country Music Television....like a pure country MTV] fans. Personally I don't like it; while sure, they lyrics sometimes mention God it seems most of the time there's something about the melody or the harmony that sounds whiney. Even as I type I can hear those violins moaning. Meh. Heh, I fell asleep at a garth brooks concert too...what does that tell you?
So yeah, this is one Texan who does NOT like it. </rant>

Yeah. I pretty much can't stand country music either. But there is this one country song I like. It's called Drop Kick Me Jesus in the Goal Post of Life. You may be able to download it off the web somewhere because I know of no CD with that title in it. It's kinda funny to me, though.

Duh....:lol:

I can't stand country! Interesting, the Texans (who you'd think are in love with it) don't seem to like it. Well, for the most part. I guess. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. eh. I'll make up for it with this dancing banana! :dance:

Country...no thank you.

I used to listen to it when I was a kid in middle school. I liked it then...don't like it much anymore. It is kinda whiny for the most part. I mean...I can tolerate it in small doses. But...I don't willingly listen to it very often. Although I still kinda like this one Shania Twain album me and my dad would listen to...^^;

Well, I just discovered this thread and thought I'd put in my 2 cents. Personally, I really like country music, and rock music, and alternative music, and Christian music, and bluegrass music, and classical......erm, well anyway you get the picture. Country music is special to me though, probably cause it's all my parents listened to when I was little, so I grew up listening to it, plus it makes me feel all southerny or something. I like some bluegrass too. For some reason I really liked that song from O Brother Where art thou. Made me wanna learn the fiddle.(lol) I love the fiddle and the banjo, and most of the very country insruments. :thumb:

No, I think the name of the song I'm thinking of is Man of Constant Sorrow, or something similar to that.

I, like blue elf, absolutely love country music....I'm not from Texas though....I'm from Wisconsin, but still.......I love it. especially the new country like Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood. My favorite songs right now are "I'll Walk" by Bucky Covington, "Just a Dream" by Carrie Underwood, and "What hurts the most" by Rascal Flatts.

I don't like country music. The only country music I can stand is Johnny Cash and George Jones.
But I like folk rock which is similar.. you know.. Bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles, Bob Dylan.
Southern Rock is also excellent.

But. By far.. The best Country song is "Kitties are So Nice" by Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys.

Thank you Rd I was looking something that someone posted on superchic....i didn't look through all the threads...i think they should have some kind of search tool to search the threads don't you?

There is a search tool, actually. Moreover, the threads have dates on them; it's fairly simple to tell how old a thread is simply by looking at the top left of each post.
