help understanding song's meanings

I've been listening and reading the lyrics for Hyde's songs Masquerade, The Other side and Words of Love. I'm trying to figure out what the meanings of the songs are...and I can't figure it out...if any one has any ideas...please tell me. Like Words of Love makes no sense(and is scary in some sense..therefore look up the lyrics yourself for I'm not posting em)...The Other Side almost sounds like the voyage of a Christian in some ways....and Masquarade almost sounds like he's asking for help and rejecting God at the same time... Here's the lyrics for each song...mild language in the last one....

unfortunately, poor Hyde seems very confused about Christianity, and probably misinformed too. I think he's searching for the truth, and not finding it. it's times like this when I wish I could just sit down and talk to these people.

Words of Love is just...strange. I'm not sure what he's trying to say.

slightly offtopic, I'd like to know if he has help with his English or if he's really writing it all himself.

oh yeah, btw. 666 is supposed to be a play on words. in Japanese, the word for six is "roku", which sounds like the English word "rock", as in "rock n' roll". therefore, 666 = rock rock rock.

from what I heard he knows English and does his own lyrics.

oh yeah! I've allways wondered about the 666 part. ^_^

Time for a random joke: What do you get when you play Marilyn Manson backwards? Doesn't matter, it makes no sense that way either.

Marilyn Manson is an industrial music artist (he is sometimes also called "Shock Rock", but if you listen to much of the industrial genre you will find he really isn't so shocking). His name comes from a combination of the names Marilyn Monroe (the famous movie star) and Charles Manson (the famous mass murderer).

While I have never really listened to Manson, I understand he does have some stuff which mocks Christianity. He did release an album titled "Anti-Christ Superstar" awhile back. He also covered Depeche Mode's hit song "Personal Jesus".

What MM has to do with Hyde, I have no idea.

It seems to me that what makes a shock rocker is not so much their music as their on-stage antics in performances, which to quote The Lady of the Manners at http://www.gothic-charm-school.com , "he took everything he does from Alice Cooper". Also, I will note that a lot of industrial music is popular in the gothic scene, but terms related to Manson in the gothic slang like "Mansonite" and "Spooky Kids" are synonomous with "Those that think they really get it but I don't." I myself have heard a good deal of industrial music isn't really that bad, and some pretty good Christian entries have entered into the Industrial, Gothic, and EBM genres too ( http://www.christianindustrial.net ). Anyways, Wikipedia writes:

Marilyn Manson is an alternative metal/rock band based in Los Angeles, California, in the United States. Frequently termed "shock rock", the group's sound contains influences from heavy metal, industrial rock, and glam. Formed in 1989 (see 1989 in music) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids, the band's uniquely theatrical performances gathered a local cult following that has, over seventeen years, developed into a worldwide fanbase. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marilyn_Manson

Also, I very much doubt the 666 of this topic is an accident for the same reason the rivethead of my stained glass class has an inverted cross necklace - shock value and satire against those who say that music that is inspired by electronically powered instruments of various kinds is the music of the devil.

Hyde recently released his new solo album: "Faith." The first song is "Jesus Christ." Most of the songs and the cover are religious in nature. I am not sure what Hyde believes about Jesus, but my friend told me that he said in an interview that he is searching for God now as he is getting older. I don't quite understand the lyrics to the songs either, but the music is excellent. You can listen to some here:

Yeah, I've heard this album and I'm honestly not sure what to make of it. I think Hyde has been searching for answers for several years and it doesn't sound like he's really found any (at least not the right ones). It might seem stupid to pray for him, but I'm gonna start doing it anyway.

I don't think it's stupid to pray for him at all! If he's searching, he's at least one step closer. I think it's great to pray that God could open his eyes and help him find the correct answers to his questions.

Plus, can you imagine what an impact he'd have on Japanese sociaty if he actually became a Christian?? That'd be HUGE.
