A place to share seasonal songs, for those in the mood to help others get there.

I will offer my favorite Christmas carol/hymn, especially in this season where our country is struggling to define itself:

Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled."
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
With th' angelic host proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem."
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!

Christ, by highest heav'n adored:
Christ, the everlasting Lord;
Late in time behold him come,
Offspring of the favored one.
Veil'd in flesh, the Godhead see;
Hail, th'incarnate Deity:
Pleased, as man, with men to dwell,
Jesus, our Emmanuel!
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!

Hail! the heav'n-born Prince of peace!
Hail! the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Risen with healing in his wings
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die:
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give them second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!

What a powerful affirmation of our faith.

This verse from I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day has become my favorite in that it reminds me in that our Lord is in control of everything, regardless of how bad things seem to be getting:

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep!
"The wrong shall fail; the right prevail
"With peace on earth, good will to men."

well....one of my favourite Christmas songs is Carol of the Bells...but that's alot because the tune is magical.

lyrics-wise, I Celebrate the Day by Relient K...very lovely. :angel:

Here's a little ditty we used to sing every year back in high school (Help me out Ash):

Adeste Fideles laeti triumphantes
Venite, venite in Bethlehem
Natum videte regem angelorum
Venite adoremus, venite adoremus, venite adoremus
Dominum

Cantet nunc io chorus angelorum
Cantet nunc aula caelestium
Gloria, gloria in excelsis Deo
Venite adoremus, venite adoremus, venite adoremus
Dominum

Ergo qui natus die hodierna
Jesu, tibi sit gloria
Patris aeterni verbum caro factus
Venite adoremus, venite adoremus, venite adoremus
Dominum
