Modest mouse

Anyone else like these mice, they're awesome,

I loved "Float On"

click here to see listen to it (quicktime),
here are the lyrics:

I backed my car into a cop car the other day
Well he just drove off sometimes life's ok
I ran my mouth off a bit too much oh what can i say
Well you just laughed it off it was all ok

And we'll all float on ok
And we'll all float on ok
And we'll all float on ok
And we'll all float on any way well

Well, a fake Jamaican took every last dime with a scam
It was worth it just to learn from sleight-of-hand
Bad news comes don't you worry even when it lands
Good news will work its way to all them plans
We both got fired on the exactly the same day
Well we'll float on good news is on the way

And we'll all float on ok
And we'll all float on ok
And we'll all float on ok
And we'll all float on alright
Already we'll all float on
Now don't worry we'll all float on
Alright already we'll all float on
Alright don't worry we'll all float on

And we'll all float on alright
Already we'll all float on
Aliright don't worry even if things end up a bit to heavy
we'll all float on alright
Already we'll all float on
Alright already we'll all float on
Ok don't worry we'll all float on
Even if things get heavy we'll all float on
Alright already we'll all float on
Don't you worry we'll all float on
All float on

I HATE Modest Mouse. The Singer has on oe the most annoying voices in music. Most of that Float On song is just him saying "we'll all float on alright" for about 2 minutes. The song is over all anoying along with the rest of the cd and is composed of the same crappy wannabe Funk pattern they always did in the seventys.

From what I have heard from them, there music is quite listenable. Its nice to see rock has crept from a few of the slumps its been in...to having a new sound. For a while we had "the" bands. Hives, vines, strokes. We have also had the million carbon copy rapcore bands. And even better, emo. *sigh* I always tend to appreciate bands that have a unique flavor.

When I first heard them I hated them. But now I like their melody of Float on and lyrics. But I still don't conciter them a great band, or even a decent band in that matter. They have some other songs that are anti-christian, and use profanity. So, just a warning. :thumb:

Once again, I personally hate them, but they are better than emo and Rap/metal. I still like the "THE" bands better.

I can't say that I particularly like them even though I have about 4 of their CD's...(my friend keeps giving them to me...whether I want them or not...) But, I have a deep respect for their lead vocalist because he is so into music. He changes his band fairly often because he wants to have a new sound for every album or so. Anyway, as I found out...all their CD's sound different, so if you didn't like one, most likely you'll probably find one out there that appeals to you. His voice is really odd...but it changes in each CD. I still have yet to listen to about 2 of the ones I have...

BOOOOOARGH! MY BAND!

I like Modest Mouse, in particular their older material like Lonesome Crowded West and Moon & Anartica. Yeah, many have said they dislike the vocals, saying they're a little too off but I think is what seperates them from most of the crowd.

If you like MM give Neutral Milk Hotel a shot --they're the side project to the Mouse.

I watched the music video for this song a couple of times on Launch and I really like it. It's a lot different from the stuff I usually listen to.

[off topic] dude you could be a little more nice about it. like say i don't really like them very much, in stead of total slamming every aspect about them. Just to tell you in other threads you've slammed just about every band i like.(and types of music)[back on typic] hmmm I havn't heard these guys but i doo like the lrycs of the song you showed. I think ill lison to some more of them.

That whole cd is seriously annoying. I wouldn't give MM the time. I have heard the entire cd, and I still say, I hate them. Wait, I seriously dislike them.

Their older cd's are far better than the latest. Burkowski is by far the best song on the new album.

Neutral Milk Hotel is great!
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.
