Why don't most Christian Rockers make videoes?

Postby rocklobster » Sat Mar 08, 2008 10:54 am

I looked up on Yahoo and Youtube and I just don't see many, except for fan-made stuff (which there seems to be quite a lot of. Why is this?

Anberlin:

Paperthin Hymn
A Day Late
Godspeed
The Unwinding Cable Car

Leeland:

Sound of Melodies

House of Heroes:

Serial Sleepers

If a particular band doesn't have the money to make a music video, I guess that could be a contributing factor, but there are Christians in rock bands that make videos still.

I'm guessing they don't do it because there's no place to really air them. They used to do it more, but seeing them on Christian television was rare even then, so...

...Youtube?

A lot of Christian bands make music videos.

BlesstheFall, War of Ages, mercy me, Casting Crowns, Third Day, Skillet, DC Talk, to name a few.

They pretty much all do, you probably just don't know where/how to look. Yahoo! and youTube are going to be pretty band specific so just putting "Christian rock" isn't going to help. If there's someone in particular that you're looking for, however, then you might be able to find some using their name. =D

They're just not always shown on MTV.

Well, with the exception of Christian bands that are popular in the mainstream such as the three bands beau99 mentioned (I've seen Blindside on MTV way back).

I'm dwelling on the past when I watched TV.

You can also find the latest Christian music videos by going to tvulive.com and watching them there.

mechana2015: Does that answer your question?

I like those bands a lot.(I haven't heard House of Heroes though)
Regarding the topic I think it depends on the artists, and their popularity.
