Seriously confused mocking bird

Yet another one of OldPhilosopher's random encounters with nature...
So around 3:30 this morning I couldn't sleep. I got on CAA to try and fix the reviews section (which some of you may have noticed is not functioning right). At around 4:00 AM (PST) one of the lights around our appartment complex decided to come on. I'm not sure why this is the case, but it's right outside my home-office window, and it's fairly bright. Evidently I'm not the only one who thought it was insanely bright. It woke up a mocking bird that WON'T SHUT UP! It's singing its heart out to the sun, which won't come up for another 1.48732 hours.
I just hope HE doesn't wake up the wolf. Although, if my making coffee didn't wake her up, probably nothing will...

Oh trust me, I live in a neighborhood of dumb mockingbirds. I used to wake up around 6 or so hearing them sing incessantly, and listen as they kept singing all...day...long. But see, at the time I thought it was a bunch of different birds, since their were so many different calls. Dad told me later that was just a bunch of mockingbirds trying out different whistles to get a mate. I looked at dad, shocked: "You mean to tell me our state bird is like the hooker of birds?!"

Feh...Mocking birds dislike me. Of course, other people don't chase them down when they won't shut up...so...heh.

Heh, funny.
I don't think we have Mocking birds around my house. But occasionally I get ripped from a wonderful sleep by some stupid
loud bird that decides to sing right next to my window...

I understand. I have a cardinal that lives in a tree just outside of my window, and he usually decides to sing around 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning...which happens to be just a half-hour or so after I get to bed. ^^
One time I ran down stairs and was going out the door when my dad showed up...I bet he was wondering what I was doing there.
I ended up getting a cup of water and going back to sleep...kind of. Now I've learned to sleep through it...although I can still hear it in my dreams.

yeah... mockingbirds are annoying... especially when you've been up really really late/early and you haven't gotten to sleep yet and all you can hear is their persistant singing....

The Municiple Mocking Bird

I totally understand. Everymorning, starting at around four, the local mocking bird (also known as the municipal transit system) shakes the foundations of the earth. Saddly for me, my appartment is situated directly on top of that foundation, and I am several floors up, so it's amplified. However, over time I have become slightly more accustom to it. I hope for your sake, the mocking bird either silences itself or continues everyday. It's the intermittent stuff that really becomes annoying.

I had a crow outside that did that once. It was trying to wake me up, I think. I'd wake up to "CAW! CAW!"
It'd shut up when I opened my window...it would fly off somewhere...

I wouldn't be too surprised, acutally. Crows/ravens are acutally pretty smart. At any rate, this is the reason why a supersoaker by the bed is a good thing. A pellet gun will damage a screen, and you can end up with permanately damaged bird. A damaged bird might not be ABLE to go away, but a TRAUMATIZED bird, will be less likely to return.
Unless you believe those fine documentarys that you see on tv. I am of course, referring to "The Birds."
