I'm greatly saddened to hear it as well, as Reagan was a significant portion of my childhood and the first president I really remember.

(Just to set the tone, please, no discussions of politics; the thread will remain open as long as people behave.)

I remember he was the first president I was able to vote for. I remember being so happy I could finally vote and I was able to vote for Reagan. I believe he will be remembered as one of our greatest presidents many, many years from now. ^__^

He will be missed... -_-

I remember back in highschool I wrote a report about him. Why? He started the 'Star Wars" program ... anyways, after that, he was one of my favorite Presidents. :thumb:

As one of the few presidents who helped the economy rather than sent it straight into the gutter, and a man who was responsible for the fall of the Berlin Wall. He did some great things, surely he'll be up there with Thomas Jefferson and Co.

"The Great Comunicator"

Though I am proud to have had Ronald Reagan as one of our presidents, I am not saddened by his death. That is just an unavoidable part of life. Now, if he had lived a long time, allowing his Alzheimer’s to greatly worsen. That, to me would have been sad.

I admire that he was some one who was able to make a difference in our country and especially in the world. Its easy to identify the problems, but to be able to do some thing about them, is something entirely different.

Thanks for your help RR.

I wonder if he was saved?

Kaji's right, he was 91 i think, (could be wrong) but he had a full life, im sure he didn't have to many regrets. Its best to just remember all the good things he did, and pray for his family and the nation.

Does anyone else see the irony in that our best president was an actor..

Like that movie.... 'Dave.'

(accept he wasnt an actor, just an impersonator.)

None the less, he played the part well :)

Reagan was president during most of my childhood, so although I don't remember all the political aspects of his presidency I recall a lot of the more famous things he accomplished as well as his being the first person I really viewed as "President". He will be missed, but as others have said he lived a full, very productive life and was saved, so I'm happy that he's home with the Lord now.
