Hey, I wasn't sure where this would fall under, so I just took the safe way and went with general ^.^;; Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew what the glove/gauntlet type things (yes, so very specific
) that are seen in many animes such as Fire Emblem, Samurai X, and most likely many more are called? I'm looking for patterns to make a pair or two due to the fact that my last try which was just guesswork didn't turn out so well. Thanks in advance. -Water-bearer

Hm...you may be referring to the armguards of the kote, which were the arm protectors that the samurai wore. Might you have some pics of what you're looking for?

Alrighty, think I found a link lol.
Here it is.
If you look on Kenshins arm, that cloth looking thing is what I'm thinking. Thanks very much for the pics mr. anderson, but not exactly what I was going for. ^.^

Like Raiden no Kishi said, Kenshin's wearing armguards. In Western medieval armory, those are specifically called vambraces, if I'm not mistaken.

Vambraces are from the hand to the shoulder, the gauntlets were the gloves.
And they do rock, but not as much as their Japanese counterparts.

Well thank you all for your help. I found a place with a good pattern setup for them, and will hopefully be getting on them right away. Thanks again,
