Hmm. . . well, thre's nothing ungodly about wondering. God made people curious, but obsessing about it probably wouldn't be healthy.

As far as my opinion about E.T.'s-- hmm, I don't think they exist. They might, but I don't think they do.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Some verse in the Bible says, quote, "I have sheep in other pastures that you know nothing about,". So....that COULD mean aliens.

Well, to be frank, that verse was referring to gentiles... I could go either way with that, but it's best not to worry too much about it.

Also, the current worldwide obsession with Aliens is merely to prove anything and everything other than "God did it" when it comes to origins, and is definately dangerous ground.

I suppose it's this.

John 10:16
I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

I guess I don't really believe in aliens nor do I really care about them. ^^;;; If God did create them, it's all good and I'm cool with it.

I'd love it if God had created other intelligent beings aside from us. But that's coming from me who has been dreaming about stars and planets since she was a kid, so that's pure wishful thinking. XD

It's anyone's guess, really, but then anything is possible. We haven't had evidence that would sufficiently prove or deny it, so it's still an open field.

Given what we know about physics, chemistry, and astronomy, it's my own opinion that life is almost certain to have evolved elsewhere in the universe as well.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

>>John 10:16
"I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."<<

This verse was used by Christ regarding the scripture in Isaiah 56:8 "The Lord God (YHWH), who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares, Yet others I will gather to them (also seen as HIM, meaning Christ gathering those to HIM), to those already gathered."

This is definitely seen as a scripture based on how Christ did not come to save only Israel, but the Gentiles as well - all who would believe.

I am positive this verse and others similar had nothing to do with aliens. Of course, we are considered aliens in scripture. ^_^ *hehe* Eph. 2:13-22 is another good section of scripture if you'd like to read regarding us strangers, aliens being brought together by Christ.

Now, I think Mangafanatic gave a great answer that we are naturally curious beings and I think it's all right if you want to think about such things. I don't believe there are aliens, however, and if there are, well what does scripture say I should do about it? Nothing.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I find it amusing that the US government actually has a plan for alien contact. Though seizing the ship and treating the newcomers as animals seems... counterproductive. I don't think we need to become part of an intergalactic war now, do we?

Christians are to look toward Heavan, and not to the stars. To focus on the existance of aliens to me is still worldly. If there is anything up there, than either we will be able to go up there to find out, or He is coming back before we can. We will one day have the possibility for such space travel, but it might not be in God's will that we do.

If aliens existed God would have put that in the Bible clearly. Not through scripture that could be twisted a certain way. My own personal feelings on the matter, are that somtimes Angels and demons are seen and in a desperate way to exlain it we create little green men. The only aliens I know of are the ones sneaking across borders....

I've always been interested by this topic.... mostly, because I'm a Sci-fi fan. Our galaxy is a huge place and the universe is filled with countless ones. I believe it could be possible....but, what's the point? If we are the only beings God breathed his breathe into us and therefore have souls... that would mean all other physical creatures are soulless. They would have no purpose in live. It they are out there... I doubt we will ever met... the universe is mind numbly big.... So in short, I highly doubt we'll ever know til' we get to heaven.

I personally don't think they do exist. God created a universe so enormous to show his power and glory. The heavens fit into his hand after all.

Reason I don't think they do exist is that it wouldn't be fair. The WHOLE of Creation was affected by sin. "For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but by Him who subjected it in hope" Romans 8.

It isn't fair for beings on another planet to be affected by our sins. But since Sin destroyed the entire creation, that's what would have happened.

If God DID create aliens, they'd be the same as us. We were the pinnacle of God' creation. Not to be arrogant or anything but we were created in the Image of God. Thats a pretty big thing.

Do you think God create other being besides us?

Sure, angles and some other crazy guys in Revilations.

I dont doubt that there could be tons of stuff that God created that we dont know about. But even if he did create some other planet full of life (which I dont really think he did) I wouldnt care. They dont have anything to do with us.

Gods will in abosute and good, so trust in him and you dont have to fear 'them aliens' (if they do exist), and to be come obsessed with them or their potential existance just seams like another one of satans great plans to distract us from God.

So in the words of my (fake) Italian grand father "Forget about it."
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

As for crop circles, they've proved those are hoaxed. All you do is take a piece of 2 by 4, some rope, a nice big field and your buddies and it's very easy to reproduce if you're good at geometry. So I think you can throw that claim out as proof they exist.

I don't think there are any little green men, or greys, or tentacled monstrosities because A: there is no good indication of them in the Bible (the verse mentioned earlier can too easily refer to the all the cultures outside of the Middle East) B: the idea that we are the sole life created in this enourmous universe puts the emphasis on our uniquness and our special place in God's eyes.

On the flip side, I believe it was C.S. Lewis who wrote "The Silent Planet" in which the universe is populated, but those cultures passed the test in thier Garden of Eden and we didn't, as a result, they do not make any kind of contact with us. An intersting idea and lesson, but i don't think it holds as a good possibility.

I found this site the other day for a group of kids in the UK who create crop circles for fun.. nevertheless, I'm a bit confused about how they made this one (attached)

For those of you who believe aliens don't exist because they don't make an appearance in the Bible, that is flawed logic. The Bible makes no mention of the other planets orbiting the Sun, so by this rule they don't exist. Yet we sent probes into space and took pictures of them.

Whatever the truth is, it doesn't really matter too much. We'll find out the answer when we get to Heaven, or if we ever make first contact.

While I'm reasonably convinced of the likelihood of extraterrestrial life, I'm much more skeptical about claims regarding UFO's and the like. Most claims are more than a little dubious, and have become a quasi-religious phenomena (as a suggestion, see the documentary "In Advance of the Landing")

However, I would be disappointed if intelligent life didn't exist elsewhere in the cosmos. At the same time, I think it is worthwhile to continue to search for evidence of life, both within and outside of our solar system.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. I think it's totally possible that God created life on other planets. As someone else mentioned, the universe is incomprehensibly vast. I think it's a bit arrogant of us to assume that God would not create life anywhere else.... (and just plain silly to assume that God would tell us everything there is to know about the universe through the Bible. That would make for a mighty big Book.) We are His special creation, of course, created in His image. But that doesn't mean that He would never choose to create beings in His image on other faraway planets also.

However, there is no sense in obsessing about this. If it's distracting you from God, that's not a good thing. Focus on what God HAS told you. If He didn't tell us about extraterrestrials, He probably had a good reason not to tell us, ne? :)
