CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

this thread is for you to post a list of things that you want to do in your life before you're thirty. it doesn't necessarily have to have thirty things on it, but if it does, hey that's great. anyways. here is my list in no particular order with asterisks (sp?) next to the ones that i've already done.

2- get married

11- become president ( i didn't know you had to be 35 when i made this list)

*13- meet someone famous ( i met george bush when he was running for governor of this wonderful state)
14- learn how to swim ( yeah...it's sad...i'm almost 19 years old and i can't swim)

16- play soccer for high school again
17- start a community service organization
18- be on the today show ( i've always wanted to meet katie couric)
19- write a column for the newspaper
*20- have an impact on someone's day for the better

Yup, I'm crazy enough...

*trying to think of how many things I can cram into less than 2 years*

1. Make a lot of cool sculptures
2. Sell a lot of cool sculptures
3. Sell enough cool sculptures than I can make a decent living being a full-time artist
4. Travel (Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England, New Zealand, Australia, and maybe a few other places. OP wants to go to Japan. Somehow I don't think all this will happen in the next 2 years.)
5. Buy a house with room for a studio

30 before 30, eh? Lesse if I can do it...
1. Get married
2. Go on a mission (as in proselytizing, preferably in Japan, but anywhere'd be cool too)
3. Graduate college
4. Get a job
5. Write a novel or 10
6. Write a video game
7. Beat every FF (I've beaten 1 and 2j so far... only 8 to go!)
8. Learn Kendo
9. Learn a whole boatload of other martial arts
10. Achieve fluency with nihongo (japanese for the uninitiated)
11. Ditto for Latin
12. While I'm at it, learn Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Greek and any other languages I feel like learning.
13. Have a kid or two
14. Learn to draw pictures that don't look like crap
15. Buy a real Katana (and maybe a wakizashi as well)
16. Start a webcomic
17. Buy a house

Well, more than half. Not too bad. More, if you count #'s 9 and 12 as more than one. Not too bad. Note that the above are in no particular order.

What can I do in three years?

1. Make serious headway on my Ph.D
2. Author at least two more papers.
3. Travel, especially to western Europe (see the sights, eat the food, drink the wines).
4. Line up a good research job.
5. Improve my French.

And probably do some other stuff too.

*Walks in* I'm 12 years too late. *Walks back out of the thread* ^_^ Just kidding. I'll have to handle this thread a bit differently, since I've passed the 30 mark. I hope you don't mind, convoybutterfly.

What did I do before I turned 30?

Got to travel:
Visited Scotland (my dream come true) for 31/2 months
Visited London, England
Visited China
Visited Hong Kong
Visited Phillipines
Stayed in a resort in Baja, California with my crazy friends
Drove an RV through a hurricane in Florida, with my crazy friends
Drove through New Orleans, Lousiana in an RV during traffic and almost killed us all
Travelled through the entire United States western and southern coastline by car
Spiritual matters:
I was able to be used by God, and saw others saved for Christ
I witnessed to my brother and sisters, and only some came to Christ
Forgave my dad
Found out what it is to love, and be loved
Read the whole Bible
Lifelong Dreams:
Found the man of my dreams
Got married
Had my first beautiful child
had the greatest roomies when I was single
My best friend in the world sang at my wedding
I performed my music in front of a lot of people
I recorded some stuff (in the Phillipines on a Christian radio station)
I had groupies (maybe 5 *hehe*)
Rode a motorcyle and crashed twice
Was in a major freeway crash in Los Angeles and lived after being run over by a semi-truck
Attended a lot of colleges and never obtained a degree, never stayed long enough
Was able to study under some very wonderful teachers/mentors ^_^

EDIT:I was 4 short, let's see:
Rode horseback in the New Mexico mountains and along the Baja California coast without a guide
Climbed several mountains, and hiked everywhere in the southwest
Nearly got arrested twice (wasn't my fault)
Beat up by a crazed person, my friends pulled her off, since I don't fight, and she was mistaken and drunk

Hmm, I don't think these would have been goals before I was 30. ^_^

１a． Learn all 1945 Joyo kanji and, perhaps, at least 100 more than that.

4. Get an associates in Computer Animation
5. Work for Konami or similar Iconic company
6. Meet a Girl that's funny, intelligent, deep, comfortable (you know, the kind that can fart in front of me and be fine with it...), definately christian, charasmatic, missions minded, and doesn't have a call to celibacy and isn't planning on being a martyr before she's 40 (Just learned that addition to my story last night) and doesn't plan on staying in her home state/country all her life, isn't morally opposed to anime or video games, will learn a 2nd or 3rd language (Japanese), wears glasses (めがねが大すきです。） and doesn't wear too much makeup, there are more things, but I can't think of them right now.
7. Successfully publish my books (at least 3 fiction) and start working on my Non-fiction work (hopefully my writing skills will have improved by that point.)
8. HOPEFULLY get a christian game project out and do it WELL! (If I get a billion dollar inheritance, I already said that I would sponsor a lot of people to go to full sail... And, if I got 17 million dollars, I'd sponsor either 9 or 7, depending... Otherwise, i'll just have to have some major divine appointments.
9. "Maybe". Get my brother (Bio) out of his rut, after I get out of my own of course. Of course, maybe my getting out of my own rut could be me helping matt get out of his... Hmm... I'd get him working out, and studying, and learning some life skills, and anything else I can to get him away from his seemingly inescabable trap... I'll make this one a "Maybe" *edits beginning*
10. Adjust my body to a cicadian rythm and gain a normal energy level (though my happy days just before the "news" prove that my energy level is like this because I'm so lonely, not because of my sleep schedule...)
11. Memorize at least one book in the Bible... Probably I Corinthians.

Heh. I lived in England for three/four years. They don't really appreiciate Americans. And after a while, the odd expressions, food, store hours and other things start to get to your head. Never, never, EVER order black pudding. It's basically pig's blood. BTW, the only diff in the Harry Potter books is things like 'cricket' instead of 'baseball'. Brrr. I have a permanent phobia of David Beckham.

12) Learn JavaScript.

Hey Bobtheduck, you decribed me, execpt I'm rarely funny. I try, though.

30 things... lessee

1. graduate high school (only a month to go )
2. figure out a way to pay for college
3. ummm... i suppose graduating college would be good to do as well.
4. get to five balls juggling and learn some tricks for four... and get good enough at unicycle to juggle while riding the dumb one-wheeled contraption....
5. meet new people (and maybe learn the concept of communicating over long distance so that i don't completely lose contact with everyone i know now)
6. write something worth publishing.
7. get it published.
8. vote... a few times... voting should be fun
9. watch more anime
10. do something usefull
11. see my mum and step-dad and little sister and basically my entire extended family on their side come to Christ... that would probably have to be the top thing on the list but yeah...)
12. see what kind of neat people all my really little sibbies turn out to be and watch my not so little ones grow in Christ.
13. learning a martial art would rock (my brother takes nijitsu and that seems really cool)
14. fluency in multiple languages (italian since my mum is fluent, Japanese obviously, Hebrew it totally rocks, french as i've already taken four years of it so might as well finish the job, greek and latin, any other ones possible, Czech would be cool as my grand-ma is fluent, and ummmm okay so i wanna learn 'em all )
15. I suppose being able to ride a horse again would be nice. man i miss the horses...
16. traveling not so much, been there done that. 'sides they've made security so tight it's a real nuisance. Although a missions trip wouldn't be bad.
17. it's getting harder to think of stuff now i suppose by thirty i would like to be married (obviously to a christian guy) and have a family and junk... a big family, with lotsa children... adopted children
18. learn how to play at least one instrument (preferably one of the three i already own meaning keyboard, on which i can sort of play a few songs, Guitar for which i know 3 chords, or flute which i try/pretend to play in the school band.)

There you go! I'm sure I won't get all that done, some I want more than others. Like that pie thing, I just put that there to fill space. That would be cool though.
