My stupid ISP has exiled me from CAA for the last few days and as you can see by my post count, I love this site very much and let me tell you I missed it very much yesterday and the evening before. Okay so it was less than 2 whole days  But I just want to say that I'm VERY VERY VERY happy to be back!

Also, I want to thank Shooby (in case your wondering, the reason I call him that is cuz I cant spell his name) for spending lots of time helping me figure out the problem last night, even if it took a little googling to figure it out in the end, I would never have done it without him. Actually his method was perfect except for a '.sam' (sam for 'sample) filename extension that shouldnt have been there :)

If anyone else has been having trouble getting on CAA since the server move (like I have) and is using win98 or a similar OS, find the file "C:\Windows\Hosts" (no extension) or if there is not such a file, create one, and in addition to whatever is currently in it, type, on a new line, "67.15.32.13 www.christiananime.net". This will make sure your browser is directed to the new IP address of the new server :thumb:

Well, its nice to hear you are once again able to get your daily CAA "fix."

Thanks for the bit of info, that might be the problem I have been having when trying to log on at a friends house.

I'm glad your back; and thanks for the info! :)

My Internet Service was down entirely for about 3 hours yesterday afternoon, which was quite annoying (I had to get study materials for finals online, so I was out of luck there). It is working fine now though.

Heeeeeey, welcome back JediSonic! Glad to have you with us.

And thank you for the information - I run Windows 98, so just in case it goes wonky I'll know what to do now. :thumb:

This same thing happened to me, my school network blocked CAA and I complained, ALOT, and they finally fixed it. I was off for like 2 months . . . -_-
Shoo helped me out alot too trying to figure it out, but in the end it was the stupid network people . . .

The way I understand it, there are 2 solutions to the problem:

1) Wait around and let the network people fix it (beldandymewmew's way)
or
2) "hotwire" your computer to ignore the network and go the right IP no matter what (my way)

Of course, if you went around changing system files on a school computer you 1) might get in trouble and 2) would have to do it again every day since they are usually programmed to erase any new files at the end of the day.

Bell's problem was actually more complicated than that. Her name servers *were* working correctly; it was something at the network level that was preventing the site from being accessed (when I put up a network hole for her to temporarily use, it worked fine; her DNS was correct; and other computers at the school, including the lab PCs, were also unable to get there).

Conclusion: her network administrators are morons. :shady: But I can't be too hard on them, since something or other fixed it, even if only accidentally.

Yes! It wasn't my fault! *points to shoo's explaination*
They are morons anyway . . . lol
