Does anyone have a hamster? I used to have one, but she died. She was a Syrian long haired. I called her Frisky. I think I'd like another hamster someday.

Now what about you all?

I used to have a Hamster named Charlie about 12 years ago, died of a brain tumor. Why can’t any of my pets just die from old age? No, it has to be food poisoning, ink poisoning, a sadistic car teenager driving a car, a brain tumor, and such……. Well, that was my rant of the day. Anyways, back to those loveable hamsters.. ;)

My mom had a pair...but they ate each other. Well, actually one ate one and the other was disposed of for being a cannibal. So that's why we kids never had hamsters, although my sister is trying very valiantly to persuade my parents otherwise.

I hadn't either...but mom used to tell us that story as kids. :wow!:

That, and the infamous time my grandmother accidently vacuumed up mom's pillbug (rolypoly bug to you northerners) circus.

Hey, I say rolypoly.

Anyways, Some days after we got my hamster, she had babies (I was young and didn't expect them). So we called the pet store and they said they would take them, but my hamster ATE THEM! I couldn't believer it. I've always felt bad. Maybe I did something wrong.

I have a hamster! His name is Oxnard (from Hamtaro) but he doesn't look a thing like Oxnard...haha

Thanks for reminding me to feed my hamster! *runs off to fulfill responsibilities*

We had mice one time, and they multiply like.. like.. like grass!

Anyway I think they eat their babies as a way of 'recycling' them if they are too nervous/dont think they are going to survive. I read that somewhere

I say rolypoly.

Hamster?? I don't want one after what one of my friends did....

(when she was younger she squeezed her sister's hamster so hard its eyes popped out... It makes a great song!! Change a few words around in the song, "Harvey, the wonder hamster" and voila!! You have a song that's catchy and everyone loves to sing!!!)

Ah, Nia-chan, I'm sorry about you losing your hamster. :( I'm also sorry Link has lost so many pets.

Our mouse, Inuyasha ate Kagome, the other mouse, but that was because Kagome had already died from pneumonia and was lying on the bottom of the cage. We bought Kagome when she was sick. Rodents will always do that. We used to always have rats, and have one named Sesshomaru.

Anyways, we still have Inuyasha and he's the fattest little white mouse, and really sweet.

Wow, Nia-chan, I bet you just appreciate all this encouragement. *hehe* not.

Actually, rodents have such short life spans, 3 - 5 years at the most. It's not one of the more secure pets. After we lose Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, I think we'll stick to being a dog only family.
