CAA's first birthday is fast approaching

Yep, that's almost one year since CAA was created and I would like something special to be done on it's first birthday. I do not know if the 26th of May of 2003 was its exact date of creation so whoever can confirm it please do.

Now as I was thinking I would like (and I'm sure most of you would too) something special to be done on that day so:

Any ideas?

Actually, it's first birthday for these forums and this server; in August/September it will officially be 3. Aww, I love toddlers, don't you guys? =P

I find it really sweet that you want to do something though, so even if nothing comes of it later, thanks!

It's not that...it's that the idea was born in August, but it wasn't actually started til like mid-september maybe even October. Shame on me for not remembering the actual date we opened for business, but I never thought it'd be that popular. ^^

:eyebrow: Apparently some people have already been celebrating (by which I mean the consumption of alcohol).

In all seriousness, I'm excited about this upcoming event. The birthday of CAA as a concept is just an idea, though it speaks volumes about the concept itself. But with this forum being a year old, we're no longer a new forum on the internet. Looking over all that has been accumulated... not bad for a single year.

Since someone asked about some future plans, and since Shooby already verbally reproached them for the gender issue, I can speak on it freely

It's hard to say really, what the future holds, or what our future plans are. Especially since--are you ready for this guys?--CAA was originally just designed to be a clique. A little webring of sorts where Christian Anime fans would stick a 30 by 30 pixel button on their webpage and have their name on a long roster. Now, man...I'd have laughed in your face if you told me three years ago we'd have our own servers and projects and 1000+ members!

In the past we've talked about a lot of projects and goals...some that have come about fully (our own servers), some that are in development (art gallery system), and some that are still waiting to come about (animation clips, public advertising, etc.)--the key to all of this is really just staying in touch with where God wants to see us go and simply satisfying His goals for this place. I've learned that's way more important than spending hours and hours planning out these grand schemes. If God isn't in those plans, they are worthless, huh?

But I want to know where would you like to see CAA go? What do you want to see us do next year and beyond?

Amen to that sis.

Where would I like to see CAA go? Don't know really. I'd like to see a bit more done in the way of a (maybe live) bible study, or a weekly reading of scripture that everyone can read and comment on, but I just don't know if that would be something that enough people would be interested in and dedicated to that it could be done effectively. Is it God's will that His believers study the scriptures in an effort to grow and get closer to Him - absolutely. But what form it should take here at CAA is something I can't really figure out yet. That's my two yen, and whatever birthday it happens to be for CAA (as a site or idea or whatever), Happy Birthday CAA, and praise the Lord for having at least one place online where believers can have fellowship in peace.

It's spiffy how things you never expected to happen, happen with the Grace of God.

Well personally, I'm hoping we can get the Christian Video game review part up, soon.

Ummm..... what else, eh? Hmmm... I'm looking forward to what new interesting personalties will be added to this collect of faithful Chirstian. Other than that, I'm not sure right now... only that I plan to stay to see what happens....

yeah its a good thing you got the forum cause i didnt join till you got the msn site, well actully i did join before then, but it was kinda pointless till yall set up the msn forum, cause i didnt have a site to post my caa tags anyway.

oh, and seirously we need to do a booth at a convention, but only after i get a job and can afford to travel to where ever it may be.

wOOt! Yeah CAA is gonna be three years...you know if the birthday was going to be May 26th it would have been one day before my birtday. @_@

Of course I think we should do a little something, especially you veterans prowling around. I mean seriously, this place going from nothing to REALLY something is a story all its own and plenty of reason for celebration.

Did I hear organized chats? I remember we used to have a chat, but then it went away. Or maybe our own IRC server or something?

Although I missed out on it, more contests like the Best Anime Couple would be fun, as well as organized arcade tournaments (I'm still the Seal Bounce champion, but I can't even get NEAR my own score)

That would be awesome (IMO)...but nonetheless, happy early birthday NewForumed-CAA! I remember way back when we switched over...I was like...new...and just as I joined the MSN boards, they switched to the new forums. There were like 5 people for a week or so, until everyone migrated over, and then it just grew exponentially. It was awesomely cool.

Indeed.

On other subjects, I'd be in favor of all logging on at CAA's forum move anniversary. Why not?

As for the future... I think our highest priority would be remaining open and focused on God. We're a year old, but that still leaves us pretty young. One aspect of God that I've slowly come to terms with is that He at times waits to work so that it is most effective. I trust that He'll use all of us, but I'm not so sure we know how yet.

But if I had a choice, I'd hope Pilgrim's Progress could pick up. CAA created manga would be cool...

When I saw the first replies I felt like I needed a hole to hide in. It was ment to be a surprise, I never thought I was so wrong 'bout the date (that by the way was found by viewing the join date for Ashley, that, by being one of CAA's creators would be the creation date). Then when I saw that it was not going so bad, despite of having the wrong date, I was happy...

...but, still CAA's #th birthday is still fast approaching and still we could find a date to celebrate it. Another idea on how to celebrate it was to create a thread that would become the most posted one ever.

Other thing I wanted was to know more about how the idea came around and got it's feet on the ground (the idea to creat the CAA), or you could say I wanna know more about CAA's early history.
