A while back I announced that we're gonna move. Well, we did, about ten minutes from our old house. Before yuo call us crazy, let me tell you that our house payment was insanely high, and that enting now is much cheaper. Plus, when my dad gets the call to work up at Mt. Shasta, we can just leave. A few weeeks ago, a Chinese lasy, came from San Fransisco, and opened a resturant called, Shangri La- Magic wok. A wonderful resturant. Well, the couple buoght our house. last saturday we started movinf inot our new house. to days later we were done moving. I lived in a litle place calles middle town. now we're rentingin a gated subdivision called Hidden Valley. Rules, regulations, restictions... it sucks. But its quiet... whoop di do. My DAD sold the 65" mistubishi medallion wide screen tv to the Chinese people, so now we're stuc with a 27" postage stamp. My parents have cdecided that we're not going to have cable or sattleite anymore... they opnly thing we will watch now will be on tapes or dvds. Now i REALY gotta get Rurouni kesnhin and Astro boy:sniffle: .
my internet wont be back till the 14th. (im at my grandmas right now in the middletown, acrros the yard from my old house the Chinese lady bought.) the huse now is tiny, and the kitchen sucks. I no longer have the game room, so i have to train in plane sight...:shake: well, that's all i can think of... wait, the water tastes nastey, but my friend nichole lives just a bike ride a day... and it feels like a friggen prisen! you need an id just to go in a out of the gates! might as well tatto a barcode on my forehead! therought the subdidviosion is the 18 hole golf cousre, so right of our yard the old guys play, and now i need a pellet gun... heheh. Hidden valley is invested with deer, spreading disease no doubt, and yet, trhey cant be shot. ... okay i tihnk im done.

27" TV is a postage stamp? I have a 19". You get use to it. And I envy you living near Mt. Shasta. I use to live just north of Klamath Falls, Oregon so I know how beautiful that area is. I live off of Big Swamp Road. Yes, there is a swamp. Want to trade? Actually, your conditions don't sound too bad and you will hopefully settle into them before long. Look for the good aspects of where you are. You might want to offer those old golfers a cup of cold water as they go by. Might be a good witness. And don't forget to wave at the prison guard as you go in and out...you'll be amazed at how quickly parole comes if you keep a good attitude.

my tv is about 27", I think.. and its so dark you can hardly see a thing in some video games :(

That does stink about losing your internet and cable and stuff and being all fenced in and stuff though...

Also I wouldnt get too mad about having deer in my neighborhood lol 'spreading disease'.. to what? the leafs?

Anyway, I'll pray that you can get used to this new arrangement quickly :thumb:

The place I'd drop everything to live in now has no cable at all, I wouldn't have easy access to a TV, I would be walking everywhere and it's about 7 miles to any stores... Ah, how I miss it... I would trade TV, computer, and video games for consistant friends anyday. (well, really, there is TV if you are in a larger house and bring your own... They have a shared satelite service and some people opt to get their own. At least two people have large collections of DVD's and one has a large TV)

I play my games on a 17 inch screen and watch TV on a 22 inch screen. I guess it's a luxury to have 2 TV's in the same room, but whatever... I live in an appartment, so of course there are major don'ts. Meh. You get used to it.

our tv is like.. 14" wide? its easy to deal with things like that. I think you'll get used to it..

Not sure what this whole "subdivision" thing is about anyway.

Argh!

Man, I feel for you. The lack of freedom must be a nuisance. Good luck getting settled in. I'll pray for ya, Ruro.

I think you should have had a Not really option.

It doesn't actually sound all that bad. Personally, quiet is always welcome as is deer. People spread disease just as much as deer do. That big of a TV is unnecessary, as a matter of fact. It doesn't really add anything to veiwing in my opinion. I like the little TV/VCR combo I have in my room. Internet not being back until the 14th is kinda bad, but not to the extent that you're making it out to be. We lived before internet, didn't we? Find a good book. Curl up with it and fall into the story. Play a game with your family. I love playing Trivial Pursuit with my family. (Especially the Junior version cuz I know the answers to those questions. )

Destroyer, I personally don't think you should talk about the government that way. We're supposed to respect those in power over us, not tear them apart. "Render unto Caeser the things that are Caeser's" after all. I know that generally applies to taxes, but respect is something we should give our government as well. Having terrorists hit the IRS would have been pretty disasterous. The communist comment is going a little too far. The public has the power to change the government, and we should yeild to there rules. As long as they don't ask us to do anything against the Bible, we should follow what they say. As for the road thing, it's most likely a necessay evil. I live in the middle of a development and just up the street from me, they tore apart a feild and added more to the development. I don't like it, but it's there, so there's no sense in me being angry about it.

That's all I can think of to say at the moment.

To Destroyer/SpiritWolf:

Let's try and avoid turning this into a political debate - for a start, this thread originally had nothing to do with politics. Stay on topic plz.

Ruroken,

Indeed, your situation right now is less than favorable. Just hang in there. Sometimes we have no choice but to deal with the situation as gracefully as we can. For better or worse, things happen and God only knows the reasons why. All I can say is pray and trust God with every situation. There will be many times in life when we will ask God why we have to go through certain difficulties. I shall pray for you too.

Feh, so you all are mad at me now? I don't care. I got my team disqualified from some PROMOTE GA contest thing at school, and I didn't care. It's not my fault anyway. They should've explained the rules better...and I'm not the only team that got disqualified. Several other teachers did. Who's fault was it? Theirs. Not mine. I've had a rough week, and I've never liked how the government did things. I'm thankful that God gave us freedom, but the rest of the government is somewhat messed. They lie..they cheat. I'm aware most people are patriotic...but I'm slowly turning against the government. They try to seperate Church and State, they take most Christian symbols out. What about the buddha statues and the hindu statues? They don't bother about those...

Look, I'm sorry if I made anyone mad. I've just had it rough this week. I've finally decided that my cat isn't coming back as it's been gone 3-4 weeks now. My lil' brother's hamster died. I'll edit my post to not cause trouble.

oh... sorry 'bout the pets :(

If I were you though, I'd be greatful that the US government is as good as it is. Sure it could be better but it could also be a lot worse, and there are much better ways of fixing it than saying things like your first post in this thread [originally].

crap I'm bringing this more off-topic now, aren't I? sorry straylight  (destroyer just pm me if you wanted to say something else :thumb:)

Pity about the gated community, I've never thought too much of them. Other than that though, it doesn't sound too bad and certainly beats some places I've known.

I'm not mad at you, just trying to keep this thread on topic. If anyone wants to vent out their like/dislike of the government, PMs would be good, but not in this thread please.

Thanks! :)

I can't beleive you guys got rid of that 60+ inch tv... That would have been PERFECT for 4 freind Tekken Tag Tournaments Friday nights!

Funny you should say that -- one of my best mates from back at school had that exact setup.. although I quickly discovered how easy the game is (mash buttons until you find combos) :eh:

*comes hunkering back with tail between legs* I don't mean to offend. I just thought I should say something.

Sorry, Destroyer, if I offended. I feel for you and your cat. I've had a cat run away on me too, though not recently.

I have to say that your situation doesn't sound all that bad, Ruroken. I wouldn't mind living in a gated community, and there are quite a few deer around my house, yet I have never contracted a disease from them. :P

I play games and watch tv on a 19' screen, so a 27' would be pretty nice for me. Still, I can understand how it would be annoying if you were used to something much larger.

I have to admit that not having internet, cable, or satellite would be pretty annoying. Perhaps your parents will change their minds on the satellite/cable eventually.

That must be hard for you.

Now I personally don't watch as much TV as I used to... I don't ascribe it simply to lack of time due to @$&%&@ essays and homework--even during vacation, I don't feel the urge to watch TV. Thus, screen size and cable/satellite/lack thereof don't matter to me. Nor do I care about Anime as I did before.

Anyway, don't let this get to you. Things pass away. Let yourself adjust, and be glad things aren't any worse, and that things that are better are better.

I live in a gated community. Let me tell ya, it makes pizza delivery hard.

(But between you and me, I would suggest you move out of California. If you can, that is.)

Friend, you do not know what hardship is. Count your blessings, not your "lack" of luxuries.

ps> I would have said that a lot earlier, but did not have access to a computer with the login password saved.

im sory for your present situation, Ruroken (defiently in losing the t.v. ) but to think bout it, we do live pretty good. One of my friends (a possible girlfriend  ) lives in the city in a very bad neighborhood that a little 10 year old girl was shot (she was almost right next door to my friend....though did not die - though thier has been many other killings in that area) recently and her dad is an absuive alcoholic and her mom is actually pretty nice. They let her and her sister go to church but then never take for so for church, one of thier friends picks them up but say to youth group or youth group activities, me and my parents pick them up. They just have one t.v. thats gets a couple of channels and it's very old. Plus they don't even have a computer more less internet.

I was talking to her when we were taking a walk after youthgroup and I said something in the lines "do you not like living where you do?" And she thought a bit and she said "nope. I'm glad where I'm living." To say the least, I was surprised. She then went to say "without the hardships I went through living there, i think my faith with God wouldn't be that strong." Well, she didn't tell me this cause I know already but she's a HUGE witness in her neighborhood and school, despite what she goes through. I just find that awesome.

People have it even bad that you Ruroken, you just have to accept the changes, bad as it may be. I'll be praying for you :thumb:

Doctor Nic... she's a girl...

But that's OK. We here from [REDACTED] informally call females by male "honorifics" frequently.

Oh yeah, Ruroken: count your blessings and be glad things aren't any worse. Your situation certainly is better than homelessness.
