That's great, especially since it can be used by people in developing countries to improve their lives. :thumb:

Wow, I wonder how he discovered that out. Anyways, that's really neat and surely will be helpful, especially in the harsh desert areas. I'm curious enough to try that out.

It looks like a giant sophisticated version of a Thermos. (Or maybe I missed something in there somewhere...)

this really got my attention

The technology has been known for centuries, but WASN'T APPLIED TO THE PROBLEM. Notice that applying technology also has the effect of edcuating young people.

still this is a awsome thing for people in third-world (is there a second-world?)

OK. Here's the basic idea... You need shade, two pots, a towel, water and some sand. And something you want to keep cool. For the pots, get yourself a glazed pot (IE: One that's smooth to the touch) and an unglazed pot (one of those dry, porus terricotti pots). The glazed pot should be small enough to fit in the big pot with lots of room around it.

1. To start, put the sand in the big pot, and wet it down until it's sticky, but not runny.
2. Dig out a hold in the middle of it that's big enough to hold the small pot.
3. Put the small pot in the hole, and put what you want to keep cool in it. For example, a candy bar or a can of Dr. Pepper.
4. Wet the towel, and lay it over the top of the contraption.
5. Place in the shade for a few hours.

Your stuff in side should be nice and cool.

TMM: It's not quite an insulation device - quite the opposite, in fact.

Volt: You can always add more water, it's sorta easy to come by.

Locke: 2nd wold means they have plenty of food, but dont like it. (little elbonian: Airline food, again?!?)

I would like to see some studdies done on wether salt water works the same, (or better) than the regular system...

Yeah! lol

So if an airliner is a 2nd world country, then what is a 2nd person perspective? :dizzy:

That is so cool. I wonder if I've got what I need lying around to make one. If I do, I'll try it out and tell you guys how it worked. :)
