Livejoural's pretty popular. Xanga is the only other one I can think of right now.

Linkage:

I only know of three (LiveJournal.com DeadJournal.com Blogger.com) and of the three I like LiveJournal the most- mostly because my friends from when I lived in VA are still active with their journals and I can keep in touch with them. I do use Blogger though for random writings of mine. But if you are talking about fanfictions, ever thought about fanfiction.net? I've signed up awhile ago but still don't have anything to post there but a few of my friends (here at CAA also) are there.

I found some software that will generate a Blog for you that you can upload to a web server. You'd have to play around with the template files to get it the way you want, but it doesn't rely on a service. The down side is that you would only be able to update it from where you hold the software and data files.

If interested in looking at it, let me know and I'll see if I can dig up the link for the program's web page (not very many people still use it, but the program is free).

I never once heard of those...hmmm I might check them out. I used Xanga for momentarily but it didn't have the feel of LiveJournal. So I primarily use that and most of my friends are using it.

My personal favorite is Livejournal. It's got all the cool friends and community settings. :) I've used DiaryLand and I didn't like it. It's actually more of a diary then a blog. (go figure :P)

But if you are looking for a place to post your fanfiction I also suggest fanfiction.net if you try to post your fanfiction in you LiveJournal you're going to make all the people on your friends list angry at the lengths of your post. Plus LiveJournal and actually most blogs aren't set up for reading really long posts.
