I'm curious, exactly how effective would a petition created with this website be? What are the odds it would actually work?

I don't really think they really change anything. (Business wise, *coughgreedcough* money changes things.) At least, I haven't heard of such cases. Please, correct me if I’m wrong….. I don’t keep up with such things… yet, I’m interested to hear.
Then again, there's only one petition I'm in............ LUCAS ARTS BRING BACK SAM AND MAX! Why did you toss them away? We want Sam and Max 2!

Lucas arts couldn't care any less...... and I'm steamed at them!
Anyways, I figure online petitions are a good way to vent off some steam......
-Mi two cents

Nope, Lucas Arts just cancelled it........ NO MORE SAM AND MAX!!!! I can't believe they released Armed & Dangerous and Wrath Unleashed while they cancel this game. And even now they get booted for....

....another GTA clone!

Man! Sam and Max was one of the funniest games ever written, too ...

That makes me angry!
I was really looking forward to that! Did they cancel the second Full Throttle as well? That was another great Lucas game.

A Tekken RPG with Nina? Why couldn't they pick a better character? Oh well...it doesn't sound very fun either way (If I wanted a Tekken beat-em-up, I would play Force Mode from Tekken 3
).
Concerning the effectiveness of petitions to businesses, they can be effective if well-publicized, and of course if many people sign them. If enough people sign such a petition, then the company knows that they can make a profit by responding to the demands of the petitioners. Of course it takes a several months to a few years to make a game, so unless the company in question was already working on the title, it would be a while before the petition produced any tangible results.

I'm afraid so.. meh... I was able to handle Full Throttle not making it... still, makes me mad. I'd wish they'd bring back Grim Fandango... too..... such... great games they toss to the side.......

Indeed it was... good times, eh? .... I feel like playing it, now.

That's kinda scary... O_o

Okay, I'm sorry to pull the topic away from Sam and Max, but I think Link is right, petitions online are generally not taken seriously, party because there's no $$$money$$$ invovled. Plus, there are so many differant ones out there. Do you think the owner of a company is going to get up and say 'You know what? I think I'm going to read some petitions from angry fans online today!'? Or better yet, if you owned a company, would you?
